Trouble with Laser demo

    Has anyone else had difficulty accessing the Laser demo?
    Whenever I log in, I get the message "executor connection lost!".
    I called Genesis tech support, and they told me it could possibly be a virus, or I need to disable my firewall.
    I'm quite sure I don't have any viruses, and nothing changed when I disabled my firewall.
    I have Mcafee antivirus protection. I've heard a lot of bad things about Mcafee.
    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. You need to access the demo during market hours, they shutdown their servers during nonmarket hours, that is why you get cannot connect to executor, or executor lost.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Actually, I did try accessing Laser during market hours, but I still was unable to get in. I'm sure that it has something to do with my computer, because I was able to login to the demo account on someone else's computer.
    I'm guessing that it might have something to do with my antivirus(mcafee) and/or antispyware(Spyware detector).
    Anyway, I appreciate your response.

    I had the same problem. Disable any internet programs that might be running in the background, such as instant messengers, real player, pop up blockers, etc. That worked for me.

  5. Same here.

    Warning to all of you who happen to have NOD32 Virus Scanner (The net would be safer if everyone in the world had the best virus scanner ever invented). NOD32, doesn't work well with Laser.

    I disabled NOD32 and Laser works fine now, but it was mess trying to run it with it.

    I did have the connection error 2 times today, but just gave it a few minutes and it worked.

    I like the Laser platform.

    whats the point in getting a demo if you cant view it after hours.. most of us work by trading live duirng the day not testing other software venders software :confused:

    Thanks for your replies. I'm gonna try disabling a few things and see if I have any luck. I'll keep you updated on my status.
