It has been a long frustrating journey but i am quite proud of the way i traded today's market and made money.........this is the market i normally get whipsawed and lose heavily.....
it took me a long time to udsertand what brooks said about channels broadening and then turning into ranges. brooks says these things and then expects you to understand the significance of what he said:he does not explain giving numerous examples and allow us to digest what he said ! after 14 years of trying to understand i finally managed it and put it all together. Brooks is the greatest as far as market mechanics is concerned a true genius in a sea of frauds. not easy to study his stuff :you need belief and commitment........it took me 14 years ...it may take you 14 days or weeks..... but if you want to trade like Master then your teacher must be Brooks only brooks
I googled Brooks trading and this came up...is this who this thread is about? "Al Brooks is an ex medical doctor who is a “price action trader”, trading 5 minute charts of the ES futures (mainly). He trades one market only, during NYSE hours only, " It reminded me of when I only traded the Canadian dollar. I got so amazingly good at predicting how it was going to move because I was staring at it's chart 8 hours a day all week long. If somebody only trades one futures all day, it does become intuitive after a while how it is setting up to move.
Just wait until he realizes all the great music he will be missing, which has everything to do with Brooks, but is too darn caught up in ego to understand it. Like this...
yes it is about his methods...... one warning though...... he talks about a lot of things and his observations are brilliant....i read my first technical analysis book in 1994 -and more than 50 since-so i am quite qualified to give a opinion. however he does not explain much.....i do not know why ...maybe he thinks everybody is a genius like himself and do not need an explanation. for example:he says once a pull back occurs the market starts channeling. the channel then widens.....and widens until it becomes range. it then breaks out either side and the process repeats. this is what i have seen the market does......but it took me 14 years of persistent study of brooks and markets to see it. it made me profitable he just does not explain things with 5-8 examples etc........so you never realise the significance of what he says. every line in his book will make you money....if you understand the significance of it easier said than done
he was a eye surgeon a highly specialised type of doctor and hence highly paid. that means he did not enter trading to make money like most of us and most people: he fell in love with it. the number of words he has written ,number he has spoken in his videos and chat room in over 30 years of trading career is astronomical. all this is valid but it does NOT mean you can read his book and see a few vidoes and you turn into a mean money making machine.....it took me 14 YEARS to do that. so if you see a lot of arseholes here in Et call brooks names because they made Losses ...just laugh and GET BACK TO WORK arseholes here think they can give personal insults to me and brooks and make money........ price action is valid but at the same time price action is taking place, MARKET STRUCTURE [AND ACTION] has its influence on price action. this brooks calls context this has to be allowed or adjusted for. so you have setups -which all these ET arseholes see and take and then curse brooks and me- and you have context....both- set ups and context- have to agree or synch then you can laugh ...all the way to the bank
He is very clear in his video course. I just received a copy of his "Trading Price Action Bar by Bar". The one you read padu. I'm free speech advocate. But this book should be burned. I understand why 15 years studying Brooks you still don't understand him, padu. He didn't understand himself when he wrote that book. Must be the awfullest book on trading. It has to be. Do a "Go-Fund me" to raise money to buy his video course. You will learn in 3 weeks what has not touched your brain these 15 years past. I'm sad for you padu. What a waste of time that book.
