Sorry, I'm so used to mitigating the noise automatically that I sometimes forget others don't do so. I use an adaptive MA which deals with both the lag problem (the fact that you think lag isn't a problem means you're not nearly as clever as you presume you are) and the noise problem simultaneously. My trend following system makes noise its bitch. Too bad you are mentally unable to grasp this stuff.
Nuclear physics professors were so well "teached" that they weren't fooled by the cold fusion claims for even a millisecond. They knew it was nonsense from their knowledge of basic nuclear principles. It was a couple of mediocre chemistry professors who deluded themselves into thinking they'd found the Holy Grail of energy production.
Can you find out which post was sarcasm and which was serious? I guess not. and of course- every loser dreams of a system : 1.without lag 2.making money on the noise or choppy conditions 3.trading each and every trend the ultimate reason why trend following is not popular is FEAR. only 1% of traders do not fear series of losing trades. the rest will always try to catch a top or bottom or write options. god bless!
He and all the other traders of that era found a new home over at TL. The mods there are much tighter so to many of them the signal to noise ratio is better. But they are over there going strong with futures.
I don't know about the cold fusion debate at all, but science is usually slow to crawl outside the box. Axioms and theories are just that. In mathematics especially, a great many theories are built on assumptions and nothing more.
Although mathematics is often called "the queen of sciences", you can't really compare it to hard sciences like physics and chemistry. Pure mathematicians pride themselves on making mathematical advances that have no immediately obvious real-world applications. And mathematics doesn't have theories, it has theorems. Big difference. By contrast, a scientific theory is only good if it adequately explains real phenomena: observations and experimental results in the real world.
same with aircrafts. people laughed at the idea. the very same people pay big money to buy tickets to fly over atlantic. those who laugh at cold fusion now, will be first to use it in the future. or maybe they will not want free energy, huh? how about earth is the center of the universe? 1000 years ago you could be killed for denying the concept.
two things are infinite: universe and human stupidity. and i'm not sure about the universe a. einstein.
Sounds like he had you in mind. Cold fusion is as dead as perpetual motion. I'll keep laughing and you'll keep believing.
