lol, do u realize how much stuff Gann has published? His course alone is over 400 pages. Tell u what. Ask intelligent, trading related questions, and I will answer them. How about that?
I am very interested to see how this will unwind, I have yet to see proof of anybody using Gann's methods to forecast or play the market successfully. All I have seen thus far are empty promises and snake oil salesman. Swing chart,Gann angles,Squaring Price and time, astrology to time his trades. The laws of vibrations, ( "the secret" any1). RCG, I hope you can enlighten me and the rest of the followers on this thread on some of the Gann experts in the field that are on same scale of success as the likes of many trendfollowers that Covel interviews. I have most of Ganns material handy, including his commodities course etc. And most Jenkins stuff as well. Thanks
U haven't looked very hard....go over the lambert-Gann educators. Now as far the rules are concerned. Go to the lesson that tells that u must use ALL the rules to pick a trade, not just a few of them. If u use ALL the rules then you will make a success. Interesting enuf, both Bill Schamp and Jack Hershey fall within Gann's original teachings. Bill has improved them by introducing CVB. Brad Cowan also improved them by introducing PTV. If you really want to know Gann, lets dig in, and get some analysis going. See you soon.
Let's talk about gann. I was once a gann believer and spun the wheel once or twice in my day. Truth is, Gann's own son verified that his father only made money selling info. No shame in that---but this gann cult is simply foolish and this is from a past believer. I saw the methods objectively tested and the results were no better than random. Does it work in the real world trading? About as good as random entry with proper money management. So, yes it works as long as you cut your loss and let your winners run. Just like any other entry method. Unfortunately, it's the complication that attracts some people. I liked it cause I was into esoteria at the time so it fit my world view perfectly. Then I learned how markets really work in the real world thus left any form of TA as a waste of time.
Surf Eventually you might figure out who you are talking to, and you will know I have been on this site as long as you have. You errors with Gann are several, but I will list only two. 1. You did not use ALL the rules ALL the time. 2. When you saw clear evidence that the trend was against you, you held. The only conclusion I can draw is that you did not know ALL of the rules, or, you chose to circumvent those rules. This has nothing to do with Gann. It is also a well known fact that WD and his son John did not see eye to eye. I can tell you that I can post a Gann based chart and trade it perfectly well especially since the children of Gann, i.e. other TA proponents, have improved on his work. Gann IS the original technical analyst, you know. Mr Covel, please send your man back to the dugout and come to the mound on your own. Thank You.
