Hank, the selection of a secuity to trend trade is not random. You have to look at the historical performance of a security applying your trend trading technique.

Some securities can be trend traded, some can't. Again, look at the charts of odmax and iwn I posted a few days ago. These are two securities I selected for trend trading years ago, and they have continued to trend well and have made me a lot of money. There is no guarantee that they will continue to trend well, but nothing is guaranteed in this business. What they do give me is a positive expectation of success.....

  3. Especially for Hank my last chart i will ever post here. ES of today.
I wanted to comment the chart, but that's useless; Hank will always find an excuse to turn things at his profit. There is no trend, i'm probably "skilled" in something or i was very lucky.
Or perhaps i even manipulated the chart.

  4. Someone told me this version:

"The trend is your friend until the market goes against you."

OK, that's all I'll say on trend trading....looks like there are some folks that like it, some that hate it. Each to his own. There's a lot of ways to make money in the markets, and trend trading is only one of them....

  7. What the difference between the 2 statements:

    "There is no trend"

    and...

    "There is no noise"

I can see that 99% of the people in this thread are either illiterate or just lazy to read the thread (I don't blame the latter, it is a long thread... :D )

  10. what else could it be? if you dont catch the trend, upon entry, it immeddiately results in loses 'cause you are on the wrong side at that moment--which may continue to be wrong, or it may reverse and go your way.
