    Interesting.

My understanding is that there are many detectors in major U.S. cities designed to alert on nuclear/dirty bomb radiation.

You just need a shield, from recollection less than 15 inches of lead or 6-7 feet of concrete is plenty to stop any gamma and fast neutron radiation. There are other superior composites for the job like alloys of stainless steel. There is just no way to know a nuke is around and plenty of ways to design them long life. Your concern might (I'm thinking) be the primary chemical explosive breaking down over time but that can be inserted at the last minute.

If Kim or others want to they can just ship a good sized nuke in a piece of heavy plant machinery, nobody would know. I have it on some authority the first strike stalemate has been in effect a long time with Russia.

The thing about nukes is you just have to show you can do it, forces others to act as if you have.

'Criminals and fools': Majority of Americans -- including majority of Trump voters -- disapprove of this week's events
    https://www.rawstory.com/remove-trump/

A majority of Americans want President Donald Trump removed from office after he played a leading role in inciting Wednesday's deadly right-wing mob attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll published Friday.

Fifty-seven percent of people who responded to the national opinion survey (pdf) said they favored the removal of the president. There was considerable variation depending on partisan affiliation, with 88% of Democrats but just 24% of Republicans favoring Trump's removal. Just over half of self-described independents favored Trump's ouster.

When it came to how the president should leave office, 30% wanted to see the 25th Amendment invoked, 14% favored impeachment, and 13% said Trump should resign. The remaining 43% said the president should finish his term, which ends on January 20.

Seventy percent of respondents who voted for Trump in November's election said they disapprove of the president's actions. However, one in eight people who took the survey said they supported the Capitol insurrection, with 5% calling the rioters "patriots." Most respondents (59%) said the insurrectionists were "criminals."

Fully 79% of all respondents—including two-thirds of Republicans and Trump voters—described the Capitol mob as "criminals" or "fools."

Incited by calls from Trump and people close to him to "take back our country" in a "trial by combat," hundreds of die-hard Trump loyalists stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday while legislators were attempting to certify the Electoral College vote affirming Joe Biden as the nation's next president. The attack, which left five people dead, sent lawmakers and staff scrambling for safety as the MAGA mob ransacked and looted the building before police could restore order.

Since the attack, there has been a wave of Trump administration resignations and growing calls for either the impeachment or removal of the president under the 25th Amendment. Vice President Mike Pence, however, reportedly does not support the latter.

According to multiple reports, House Democrats plan to introduce misconduct charges on Monday that could result in an unprecedented second impeachment for Trump. Also on Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a letter that "if the president does not leave office imminently and willingly, the Congress will proceed with our action" to impeach him.

"We have the articles of impeachment already drafted," said Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who on Wednesday announced she was drafting the papers. "Monday isn't early enough. The nation is waiting for us to respond ASAP."

To me this means he is mainly just another guy who's part of the precariat. Not a fair reason to criticize (unless there's crime involved), imo. They need help. Many millions of them.

Zip-Tie Guy Photographed Inside US Capitol Identified by Social Media as Nashville Bartender
"Zip-Tie Guy" was photographed wearing tactical gear and carrying zip-tie handcuffs in the U.S. Senate Chamber during Wednesday's attack on the Capitol.

In the aftermath of Wednesday's attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters, photos of the rioters inside the federal building started circulating on social media, from a shirtless man wearing a horned helmet to another carrying Nancy Pelosi's podium.

    Who is 'Zip-Tie Guy'?
The photo of the "Zip-Tie Guy" that was circulated on social media in the wake of the US Capitol breach. Twitter
Among these viral images was one of a man in head-to-toe paramilitary gear coursing through the upper level of the U.S. Senate Chamber carrying five pairs of zip ties, the plastic restraints often used by law enforcement.

The individual was one of two men who were photographed carrying the plastic handcuffs inside the federal building, leading to speculation that they were planning to take hostages, perhaps Congressional leaders, against their will.

With his identity unknown and the only piece of information being a "thin blue line" patch in the shape of Tennessee on his uniform, FBI special agent Douglas Korneski, who co-ordinates counter-terrorism efforts in Tennessee said that the agency was working to identify the man.

Spotted with Woman Before Capitol Attack

However, it seems like the FBI has its work cut out for them as internet sleuths have managed to track down the man as a bartender from Nashville, Tennessee.

In the wake of Wednesday's events at the US Capitol, Twitter users combed through photos and videos taken before the breach and found a photo of the "zip-tie guy" accompanied by a woman (who appears to be his mother) as he made his way up the stairs to the rotunda of the federal building.

Users also found video footage of the man and the woman in a hotel lobby before the U.S. Capitol attack.

    Identified as Eric Munchel

Now, knowing what he looked behind the balaclava and baseball hat like social media detectives investigated further and found that the zip-tie guy attended some protests in the Nashville area wearing the same tactical gear.

t did not take long for netizens to eventually figure out that the "zip-tie guy" was actually a Nashville-based bartender named Eric Munchel.

A photo on his Facebook profile also shows the Black Rifle Coffee Co. hat he wore to the Capitol and a now-deleted Facebook Live video shows him marching towards the building on Wednesday.

Munchel's information has since been reported to the FBI but it is not yet known if he has been arrested yet.
