TRCH options introduced days before special dividend and delisting. What next?

  1. A stock that has gathered a lot of speculative attention is TRCH, if you were lucky enough to buy earlier this year you are sitting pretty. The reason is the upcoming merger with Metamaterials see e.g.:

What I find bizarre is that the exchange decided to introduce TRCH options as far as I can tell just this week. The stock will undergo a major change due to the stock split merger/dividend which should take place by 23rd of June and the rest of the process before the end of the month. Yet series of options going well beyond that have been listed.

What I cant find is what will happen with the options when all this stuff takes place. Are we simply getting options in the new merged company fractionally assigned or cash settled? What about that dividend - its a share dividend - does it just come out of the options and if you dident exercise too bad?

The interest in this is based on the uncertainty around the value of the Dividend. Some interesting option strategies could be opened to make use of that but without knowing what happens if you hold through the event its a bit like walking into a dark room without a torch in your hands.

Anyone know what happens to the options post 06/23 c.q. post merger? Thanks

  2. You guys are promoting “Pump TRCH!” on Reddit “Chronic hemorrhoids”, “STD” and “Hillbilly Fetishes”. Porn sites are off limits, ok?

  3. Yeah right - thanks for the helpful response Ted.

I am asking a question which is apparently not easy to answer as I have not been able to hear a coherent response to it. What happens to the brand new options series opened by your beloved CBOE when this whole merger dividend thing goes down?

Seems rather crude of the exchange to just list options on a new stock a mere week before it undergoes a massive structural change without saying how the options will be dealt with. If you dont know what happens for sure you cannot trade the options in question.

  4. I wrote I sold the $10s for $4- above yesterday after buying at $8.3-$8.5 in Super Premarket. Did you buy some ALF? Mentioned it at $6.6 here?

  5. Well, positive inflations for TRCH are good but have to look deeper to know more how this trend will move forward.

  6. I got 2000 messages about TRCH, it was a pump because this question of the sort was spammed everywhere. The Op does not understand you guys are pros and laugh at promoting of pumps.
