I'm looking for a good sturdy travel back pack for both clothes and laptop. This is for light travel not trekking across Europe. I'm going nuts reading all the reviews on the web. Prefer the reliability of North Face but am open to other brands. It has to be able to meet the carry on size requirements of the airlines. I'm all ears.

  2. I have a Kelty. I forgot what my model number is. The reason why I like it so much is the center compartment opens like a duffel bag. Most backpacks require you to access the main compartment from the top only. [IMG]

And you would feel comfortable carrying a laptop in this?

  4. You have to add cushioning around it and it'll depend on what size laptop. I got mine from a Cabela's store. Go to one of their stores, they have a nice selection of backpacks.

I have a small lightweight Lenovo laptop which has a dual-core processor.
