Furthermore, I don't think I have ever known anyone who can interchange the ES and stocks as easily as you. You say its the same system, and yet, the prices are different, the moves are clearly different (between 1 min bars and the range of stocks, be they $5 stocks or $500 stocks), and yet you say its the same system. Then you also have the issues with gaps. Stocks gap like crazy, 1 minute bars in the ES, not so much. How do you account for these huge differences given that its the same system? You couldn't even use the same system going from ES to NQ, never mind ES and an entire basket of stocks.

You make it sound like you can bake bread by using flour and water or your piss and dirt, and both would make a lovely bread.

I really don't think momentum strategies should phase out. If it does phase out you put that hard work in again and find something else to exploit. I agree with the few people are ever willing to work hard enough comment.

  4. If you re-registered , how would we know? You seem to have a better record , knowledge and skills than these guys here. Why would they be able to give you better advice? How do you know they were succesful?

Maybe you should ask "How deluded and certain they were about their competence or incompetence "?If I was given the opportunity , I would get better information from Raven of the Chimpanzees , on this forum. He predicted and suggested buy long gbp and it worked.

There is gold here and there. The problem is, just as I read posts and articles when I started up, it took 5-6 years to finally understand what they really meant, the attitude you need to progress, or to just have the time to try out everything! However, the forums I visited at those times were full of BS and much more noisy than ET, so had to rely on learning by doing and studying alone, which is a long long road but very interesting if not insightful by itself.

This is exactly the problem. Only those who have walked the path will understand, but not guaranteed profits anyway :p

If you want to make a career of retail trading. Doing the risk reward analysis on this "trade" will be pretty obvious if you are actually a good trader.
