I'm not saying the issue is a simple one, but I didn't like Tsing's tone. Transgenders are people, too. There should be some inclusiveness, but I don't know what form it should take. Perhaps they should compete with other transgenders or with the gender of their origin. I don't know. But it's a conversation that needs to take place, without the ridicule and finger pointing. Look, I know you think this transgender thing is an abomination, but you're wrong. It is a reality that people have to deal with. Try employing a bit of empathy for transgenders. Imagine being born with a body that never felt right all the way into adulthood. Personally, I couldn't imagine the emotional ride. But it is evidently very real, even though it makes us (yeah, including me) somewhat uncomfortable. Take a moment, without judgment, and walk in their moccasins for a while in your head. How can you not feel compassion?
Absolutely. You, my friend, have just won a free trip to Baltimore. Trust me, you do not want to see a picture of the B&B where you will be staying.
Tolerance and reasonable accommodation in society does not require you to bestow special advantages to people. "Normal people" should be afforded some tolerance as well. Of course when you have a Prime Minister who sits down when he pees, I can see where it could be confusing.
When you see some guy in your tooty-fruity neighborhood in canada going into the women's room with the little girls, try to understand it from the perspective of a normal person. I know it is a stretch for you, but try it.
Well, it was good to hear that you are somewhat coming around. I think that it is wrong to do to biological girls and women. It is not fair to them. I can't believe that I feel like it is necessary to add that adjective. Think about a girl that has been in track her whole life. Track and field is her life. She dreams of winning a gold metal and she is entering her freshman year of college. However, now she realizes that dream isn't even a possibility even if she is the top biological female athlete at her sport in the country. Her reality now is that the highest metal she can obtain is limited to how many transgenders are in the competition. Why do the various sports ban taking testosterone in its various forms? For that reason, transgenders should not be allowed to compete in women's sports. If they continue to allow it, why shouldn't women be allowed to take steroids? I am not advocating for that. I am just pointing out the trans have an unfair advantage.
Lefties, desiring to include trannies somehow in sports in order to secure their vote.... should provide for a 3rd category. There'd be Men's, Women's, and Tranny competitions. Let the trannies "go for the gold" against each other (as though any of the non-LGBT/Tranny community would give a crap about "who's the strongest/fastest tranny". I can see it now.... front page of ESPN's website..."Cross dresser, little Tommy Jones.... sets world tranny record in the "clean and jerk" and the "snatch". Well, maybe not snatch.).
I have got to agree on this one, it's completely unfair. Serena Williams the best woman tennis player in history has no chance against any male player in the top 300.
