The leading cause of death of children are violent thugs with guns and knives.

What does this thread have to do with blacks? And it is your own OP thread. Why do you keep bringing blacks into every conversation you engage with about gun violence? You have a problem, dude.

The biggest threat to children is Covidiots.

Imagine being a kid today and being told that you have to sacrifice your education so that 75 year old baby boomers like GWB-Trading can feel safe.

Leading Causes of Death in Children & Adolescents

    1999 - 2020

The statistics as the leading cause occurred because the prior leading cause (motor vehicle crash) had declined dramatically...allowing firearm-related injuries to surpass it due to dramatic increases in firearm related deaths in children since 2014.

2014 is the year the NRA and Republicans made a joint effort in not blaming firearms as one of the causes in rising deaths in children.
    • Guns Don't Kill...People Kill People (motto of gun lobbyists)
The momentum (pace) of firearm deaths in children became more apparent under the Trump/Pence administration in an era that a U.S. President supported the NRA.

I'm a citizen of three different countries (Canada, France, and the United States) and so is my ex-spouse (the mother of my children). Statistics like the below are the main reasons why we made Canada our primary residence to protect our children.
    • As parents, we strongly believe it is our responsibility to give our children a safe childhood and not the responsibility of any government.
Sweden and Belgium were strong considerations for residence too but we are not citizens of those countries.

Regardless, the increasing firearm-related mortality reflects a longer-term trend and shows that we continue to fail to protect our youth from a preventable cause of death.

The United States has a serious fucking problem with our obsession with firearms while we outperform other industrialized countries in killing off our children.

Guns – including accidental deaths, suicides, and homicides – killed 4,357 children (ages 1-19 years old) in the United States in 2020, or roughly 5.6 per 100,000 children.

    One of the common misinformation/disinformation...

Those inner-city thugs are the main reason for firearm deaths in children.

Fewer children deaths in cities (urban communities) by firearm in comparison to firearm deaths in suburban or rural children.

    Why ???

The study reveals differences in urban and rural handgun culture among children and young adults. Among those differences, they found that handgun use was higher among rural participants than those surveyed in urban studies. They also found handgun use began at a younger age for rural youth, and it tended to increase with age.

As I noted earlier, you do realize that 2020 is the only year where guns killed more children & teens in the U.S. than accidents or other causes. You can go look up the data at the CDC and other sites (I previously provided links).

The change in 2020 was very much related to the pandemic. Children were out of school and largely at home. Some got depressed. Many of these homes had guns. This is also a time when travel by automobile for teens & children was greatly reduced -- no auto travel to school, sports, events, etc.

EDIT/UPDATE: This is not to say that guns are not a problem with children & teens in the U.S. -- obviously it is usually at the number 2 cause of death after accidents. I don't see any reasonable steps being taken to address this issue.

nonetheless firearms are #2 and increasing in proportion. Only a matter of time because it crosses again.

I bet a big part of the reason is that cars are constantly getting safer due to government regulation. Hmmm….
