Transfer favorites/address book to new computer

  1. I need to transfer my long list of favorites and my address books over to my new computer. Thye are not networked but I can email from one to the other. I know xp has a method of doing this but they have to be connected somehow and I don't see how I can do that. Is there an easy way to attach these files to an email and transfer them that way? Obviously, I am not an expert at this stuff.

Do you have a CD-RW or Zip drive on both machines? If so, just copy the "Favorites" folder (Windows Explorer) to the CD-RW, then copy the folder from the CD-RW onto the new machine.

Just Export the two items onto your desktop, then email them to yourself. You will find the import/export functions in the File menu in outlook and IE.

  4. zip up the folder and transfer that. unzip it on the other end.

  5. Dustin,

Thanks, I'll try that. Don't have CD-RW or zip.
