So I've recently made an Instagram account and have been following supposed "successful" traders. It seems almost all of the ones that I am following are using a free charting software called TradingView. Does anyone else have experience/reviews using this? Thanks in advance.
TradingView is a MultiCharts product. For charting TradingView has many nice and intuitive features. The "Free" Product uses Bats data for stocks, EOD data for futures. Exchange data becomes expensive, as you are duplicating the exchange fees you are paying your broker for real time data. The social media portion I suppress, as I personally do not follow other traders. The free product continually nags you (offers) real time data, which is expected these days with free teaser programs. If one does not have a dedicated charting program w/data feed, multi-charts, ninja, ensign, etc... then TradingView is a decent alternative charting program to brokers charting. (with the disclaimer, the social media portion is more gimmick than value)
Trading view in my opinion is great from technical trader point of view. You can pro and pro plus subscriptions which allow you to save charts and multiple chart layouts Etc. I use it to identify advanced patterns and then execute trades on another platform. Trading view would be the whole package if you could place trades through it. Also trading view as a real good demo trading panel which is great for testing. You can buy all types of data feeds. Also if like to say since it is a web based platform you can log in anywhere and look at your charts.
We have made a bunch of articles and videos that would help you navigate through the TradingView platform. Here is the main one: http://www.optimusfutures.com/tradeblog/archives/tradingview-charting-guide/ Below this article you will find in the "related article" 4 more article that will help you through the platform. Also, we have created a series of videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlistlist=PLOGjoJXp0cmoZV5j9tbWnI8GWI0hhq2-8 We use CQG to execute on TradingView, and you can use only the TradingView charting or use enable all it's social capabilities. Consider that you can use use a number CQGs credentials tied to the same account. So if you already using a CQG product but want to utilize TradingView for charts, you have the capability of doing so.
It depends on what you trade. I admit that Trading View is excellent for visual trading and yet, it's for free. Well, it's not as great as it used to be because of too many pop-up ads nowadays. What else do we expect since it's free for us to use? If your intention is to trade stock markets like S&P 500, then I won't use Trading View because it does not allow us to put other market breadth indices onto the same chart.
There are multiple versions of TradingView. 1) AMP’s Free Version (Basic Charting and Trading): https://amp.tradingview.com/ 2) Paid Versions – PRO, PRO Plus, Premium (please click the link to compare available features per version) - https://www.tradingview.com/gopro/ Your AMP live trading credentials can be used on all versions. By using your AMP live credentials, you will not be prompt to pay for the exchange fees a second time. Since you are already paying the monthly exchange fees via your AMP account, TradingView now has the ability to check the exchanges enabled on your live AMP credentials. Your AMP Live Credentials are enabled automatically for live trading on all versions of TradingView. Check it out: https://www.ampfutures.com/platforms/tradingview/ There is a risk of loss in trading futures, forex and options. Futures, forex and options trading are not appropriate for all investors.
I noticed they don't cover micro stocks in their hot lists which is not a big deal but I'd prefer if they cover everything.
