For ETH there is this little icon you can click on the upper right corner of the chart

    For dark mode …
    I’d change the chart settings.
Or turn on the lights in the room.

Depends on what you define as rth. They do update for fx outside US trading hours. I watched them update. Perhaps it's a beta issue?

Of course it's IB data, what else? If you require outside data then you should subscribe to a data vendor or charting platform like the full tradingview platform.

IB just replaced their ridiculous charts with a lease for a proper chat solution. Always amazes me that certain people always grab your entire arm when extending a hand.

  7. I don't mind paying Tradingview instead of IBKR data if the charts can be integrated into TWS ecosystem.

The charts ARE integrated, but not the data. And for good reason. Even if tradingview offered its own data it would sell it as a premium package for extra money to IB customers, so, no point, you can as well just pay for tradingview directly and get the full platform if that is what you require. Tradingview charts inside tws are crippled, I think you can only add a max of 4 indicators and don't have access to pinescript or other premium features that the full platform offers. I don't trade based on charts hence for me this is perfectly sufficient.

If you require charts based on TV data then just use their full platform, problem solved.

On a different note, does anyone who uses the full-fledged tradingview platform know how to turn off those pesky new chart snapshots? They only popped up after the latest mobile app update. I want to turn them off in settings to not ever see but don't see any such switch.

This is definitely better than before, but with the "crippled" service I doubt anyone will actually ditch a 3rd party package to use even the improved IB charting since it doesn't really fix the pain points. They just went from comically unusable to useful only in a pinch.

Of course the underlying reason for high data/charting costs (which IB customers would have to pay to access a full-service package) is the rentier exchange oligopoly whereby private companies (NYSE, CME, ICE) are allowed to set up a toll booth, openly collude on pricing in full view of regulators, and charge everyone who merely wants to know what current prices are to the tune of 50%+ operating margins (among the highest of any listed companies in the world) under the guise of "free market capitalism" and while muttering some bullshit about innovation and Juneteenth.
