Tradingjournals Quest... Turn $100 To $100K or To Ash

Discussion in 'Journals' started by tradingjournals, May 27, 2011.

  1. leverage ratio is 0.5. You get it right. Why small--- could I skip this one as it is part of a money management I am trying first time? If it works, I might keep it "a secret". :)

Max leverage: it is function of multiple variables. In principle it could even reach the max allowed by a broker (40?). For the moment 0.5.

  2. I rarely encounter too humble people, and you are one of them.

I currently find that emotion may probably be an even more important trait than intelligence in trading. I am almost certain to score a D/come last in emotion.

  3. e/u at 1.4288. Covered short for +6pips. Did not like my last entry, and also will not be able to follow it. I would also have considered a long trade here (1.4285) for possibly around 20 pips, but since I did not like the last trade and did not do a through analysis, I will stay on the side, and would wait for a short signal if I can back later and if it goes up to a good short point.

    Number of trades: 3
    Cumulative gains: 151pips.
    Cumulative losses: zero

Note: I did not like my last trade. Was due to impatience. Left with +6pips.

  4. 1. Why are you trading when the spread is 7 pips?

    2. You're trading with $100. Use the leverage.

    3. You're wasting your time trying to turn 100 into 100,000.

The gains you need are not just astronomical, but you've also got some pretty serious opportunity costs.

  5. Thanks for your note. Good comments. I will respond in a future message (now short of time).

E/U is now at 1.4371. I am considering a long entry between current price, and possibly a dozen pips lower if this happens in near future.

  9. e/u at 1.4372. Back in on the long side. Would give this one more room in case in it goes down. If it goes down, I might add in I am around and if a good entry arises.
