If you trade YM, you must keep and ES chart on your screen also. They trade together with a spread ratio.
the YM and the ES to SOME extent trade together. last i checked, the correlation was over .9 the YM is price weighted. the ES is cap weighted fwiw. also, the ES is a proxy for the S&P pit contract which is where the big money plays. it is THE supply/demand vehicle for institutions, both for hedges and for position. i agree about watching the ES. i almost NEVER trade ES. i mostly trade YM. but you can be damn skippy i watch ES. i've never found a lot of utility in the TIKI. i am sure some do. i far prefer NYSE:TICK. that works significantly better for me fwiw. ymmv
I go in at the market. . . but only at key technical set-ups . . . at key breakout points. I rarely have slippage. Grabbing 4-5-6 points per trade is OK . . . and doing that 3-4-5 times a day. Bruce Toronto
