any1 using MP or VP in regards to f/x trading? I have been enjoying some success with it and would like to share ideas.
Ok...I have been asking around to find out what most people are NOW using to trade the emini S&P in regards to Market profile..In other words are you basing the Value area numbers on Price/TIME or Price/VOLUME...THEY if you are still breathing it seems that you are now using Price/Volume ...can you tell me if this is true...? Are you still using Price/Time with the $Tick...? Thanks..thsi was/is a great thread Pitbull
i use Price/Time with volume considerations. guy (http://emini.deltat1.com/forum/default.asp) shows a quick snapshot comparison (albeit on below average range days): though not implicitly MP, you may also want to check out: http://www.chart-ex.com/chart-index.jsp for a price/volume perspective. hth take care omni
Pitbulltrader, I use price/volume or VP, but when you get out to 20 day profiles the MP and VP are basically the same. They
Thanks to both of you...that is excellent work that GUY is doing on the delta site and that Chartx site is fantastic. Are you still using the $ tick and running MP numbers on that THEY...? I was surprised that not many discussed that (the $tick)methodology within this thread...is it still an effective idea..?.Thanks again
i agree about the www.chart-ex.com site. It's an excellent site to get a snapshot of volume at price to prepare for the trading day.
Thank you for your kind words about chart-ex.com. Being a technician and having experience of working in the CBOT pits, I learned that the most important piece of information my traders wanted was âwhat is the volume?â I had my support and resistance numbers, but I wanted confirmation by seeing volume going into the pit. I developed the site to give traders a trading tool that keys into VP data. To be able to pinpoint the volume distribution at each price, a trader can get important signals for entry/exit points in the market. There is no secret formula that is going to tell you when to buy or sell, but to have one more key piece of information is critical to your trading decision; Volume at price.
Thanks! I will be happy to anwer any question you might have about chart-ex.com I dont know anyone at http://www.instituteofauctionmarkettheory.com/index.cfm but my husband knows Pete Steidlmayer from being on the floor.
