Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

  1. good summation and analysis.

however, statistical analysis or analyses are for those who seeks additional and further confirmation through reasoning rather than thru description of useless words.

i am pretty convinced that you are wasting your cognitive ability and reasoning on this thread.

it sure sounds like, if you have something to sell to cure their inability to move forward to learn how to be trading profitably.... that they will willingly listen to you or even pay you for whatever system you might have to offer....

it is also like trying to tell someone that you can drive at 160 mile per hour safely and without being arrested.... many would argue that it can not be done safely.... because they have been taught since they were born that driving safely at 60 is the way to go....

by the way i am for the law governing the 60 mile per hour.... but i am not agreeing with it....

those who never have a chance to drive in europe.... will never know nor will they ever experience the joy and thrill of going at 160....

similarly for most of those in this thread.... poor souls.... they will argue til their dead beds.... that there is no thrill nor joy.... in driving at 160....

likewise, they will argue forever.... that small traders will always lose.... because they themselves are most probably the best example of small traders who not only lose....

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY REFUSE TO LISTEN TO SEVERAL OF THOSE small TRADERS who continuously are profitable in their trading. some of those are even generous enough to go to the extent of showing them graphically how they do it.... but to no avail....

such is the funny side of human nature, more particularly the very funny side of those small traders who refuse to try some of the successful approaches and methodologies presented with good will and without charge here....

so.... let the dead buries the dead.... I SURELY HOPE SOME OF YOU SMALL TRADERS WILL RISE UP AND REVOLT against the emperor who has no clothes.... WORST YET.... WHO CAN NOT TRADE PROFITABLY....

and who tries to tell others who are willing to listen that.... almost ALL SMALL TRADERS ARE LOSERS.... just ask yourself, why the heck are these people doing here in E.T. trading thread.... what is their ulterior motive? why are they wasting their precious time and life refusing to move forward nor upward to something that is more conducive to their lifestyle? if they do not want to better themselves, that is their prerogative in life, but then how about doing it better for their significant others and their family members....?

wake up you guys.... the emperor has no clothes and no class as well.... he can not lead you to success, nor can he show you how to be successful in your own life.... are you dead or alive? if you think that you are still alive.... then do something positive for yourself and your family, ok?

    :)

  2. pardon me, mossier; CONFOUND SUCH MORONIC GENERALIZATION TO YOURSELF.... that if you are a small trader/investor you are doomed to failure....

    :(

after having looked at the attached pix.... then ask yourself.... CAN A SMALL TRADER/INVESTOR BE PROFITABLE AT TRADING FOR A LIVING....? the emperor has no clothes but that does not mean.... the readers and small traders/investors have no clothes either.... agree?

wishing everyone happy and successful trading.... and hopefully be able to trade in real time soon.... is my wish and prayer for everyone here.

    :)

Of course. I keep all the detailed stats in a spreadsheet with new data added to the averages daily for my every trade setup. Thousands of trades.

I know all nuances of them better than my own palm.

And of course those setups are not as primitive as just "ascending triangle". Two similarly looking triangles may have a huge difference in micro nuances (context, shape etc.), which make a critical influence on success rate of the trades based on them.

It's all practice, years of screen time and a hard work collecting all the stats of every nano-nuance of the market action.

That simple. But most simply are too lazy to do that. :)

  4. 1-you sound very serious about trading? and have gathered up plenty of observation and practices to trade live, right?

2-do you focus on any one particular market or product?

3-according to your stats, which is your most profitable product, pls?

4-are you trading live on anything at all, pls?

if you do not feel comfortable to respond, you do not have to ok? thx

    1. Trade since March 2005. And soon after started, began to collect and write down all stats, observations etc.

    2. Yes, the only market I day trade is Euro. Trade stocks as well, but mostly longer term using options.

    3. I traded different SIF's (from HSI to ES), Eurex traded bund and schatz futures, different forex pairs, but settled with EUR/USD, because it is the best market for my trading hours (6-10AM UTC) and lately also has become the world's #1 game too with a lot more money playing it than ever before.

    4. Yes, already mentioned EURUSD. In general, trade live since I began in 2005. That was probably stupid to not sharpen my sword on demo first, but I can't change it now anyway, so the fact is: my teacher was the pain, until a couple of really great traders helped me to learn some skills too. :D

    P. S. No problems with whatever questions too if you have any. :)

Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I met people who taught me to trade @ ET as well a few years ago. Some of them are still active posters.

So hanging around here is a kind of an old habit already, rather than an act of intentional altruism (if speak honestly). :)

You must be just reading not those posters, who deserve it. :D

There were and still are some true gems, but as with the real gems, one must filter out tons of the mud to find them. :p

  10. i often wonder.... just how does it ever happen that.... those who are generous and forgiving and supportive of others.... are very often winners themselves....

on the other hand, i also often wonder.... why those who look at others and the world with defeatist attitudes are so very often not present in the winners corner.....

and the axiom becomes more apparent when one gets a little more mature, because only those with winner attitudes can afford to be positive, supportive and benevolent to others.... cheers :)
