The no-grain diet by Joseph Mercola,MD is very similar to the metabolic diet by Mauro DiPasquale,MD although a little more on the extreme side. Dr. Mercola admits to being a little lacking in the resistance protocol department in an interview with T-mag. If you are not carb tolerent and you eat them, they can cause a lot of havoc. If you are carboholic and give them up and switch your body over to a fat burner from a carb burner you will be amazed at how good you feel and how well you perform. Bottom line is you have fiqure out what your own metabolic type is and eat what works for you not what someone else recommends. Just as all successful traders have their own unique methods to produce profits, those that have their body composition at optimal levels have figured out what works for them.

see, there's another question. were males meant to get married? isn't marriage based on religion? what if i'm not religious at all? why should i stick to a practice i think is bogus? i think most people get married because it's what everyone else is doing, but is it really what we're supposed to do?! the older i get, the more i wonder about what everyone thinks is normal. i seriously question if i am ever going to get married or have kids. (by choice)

While I have no sympathy for fatties who got that way simply by indulging themselves, it's worth pointing out that the medical establishment took the wrong road thirty years ago by telling the public that everything would be all right if they just reduced the fat in their diets. Their recommendations? Baked potatoes, rice and rice cakes, popcorn, angel food cake, pasta, bread, cereal, skim milk, fat-free salad dressings (et al), crackers, blah blah. One would think that as he cut out more and more fat and got bigger and bigger that some questions needed to be asked, but then the government comes out with a new pyramid that tells us to eat even more carbohydrates. Moral? If you look and feel like crap, listen to your body, not the establishment.
Yeah.... interesting stuff. I read an article last year that tracked down where this stuff came from. Somewhere along the line someone decided that FAT caused clogged artieries,etc,etc.... The article identified the original article this was extrapolated from. Problem is, it was basically misread, and it has never been scientifically proven that meat/fat is bad for your artieries, etc. Somehow.... an urban legend/myth was born, and everyone jumped on board. Suddenly, meat/fat was evil, and CARBs were the answer. This went on for decades until Atkins, and others started challenging this widespread notion which never had any real strong scientific support. Of course... some doctors freaked, and there was a backlash. But at least they are looking into things now that had previously been blindly accepted as the truth. peace axeman
