What do you call a toxin? A hamburger? French Fries? I do. Is it criminal to sell these "poisons"? To market them as delectable? No. Will business try to take marketing to the edge? Yes. Always. If you let them.
Can I make a suggestion?????? with each post debating the different diets, i think each poster should be open and honest and list: His AGE, whether they exercise or work out, their marital status. Im 37....I play basketball three times a week and in the mornings, I run 2 miles and lift heavy weights.....Then i sit in the sauna for for about 20 minutes so im not too sore during the day..... I can eat whatever i want and not gain much of anything...I drink beer like a fish, have pasta three times a week and live for smokie bones BBQ on the weekend....as i have said before my weight has fluctuated sometimes from 225 to 235 range depending on how much im consuming and how hard i lift....I will cut back on carbs for a week or two and especially pasta bread and fries and usually go right to 225....Im a little over 6'3 so i wear it well ..... when i was 25......I did no lifting and only played basketball....I could eat a pizza in one sitting ....and my dad and mom would always complain to me that i was too thin and my ribs were showing....I ate horribly, yet i was rail thin , had perfect cholesterol level when i was screened and perfect blood pressure. when i turned 30....It wasn't as easy as that anymore and i had to start eating less and i started doing a little resistance weight lifting.... when I turned 35....as Emeril likes to say " i kicked it up a notch"...i stopped with light weights, went heavy to build up mass and now that i have it i use a combination of both.. MY point? GG is 25......EVERY 25 year old single guy in America should be in good shape....If for no other reason then to get laid!!...no kids, no responsibilities.....if you eat too much at lunch...no problem, just work out extra hard at the gym tonight or go for a run at 7:30 at night.......but once you get married and you eat too much for lunch????? " honey you can;t go to the gym, " or " daddy can you color with me?"......and suddenly your perfect diet, exercise regime ect...goes out the window.....and more importantly, so does your metabolism level. Im not picking on GG im just pointing out that it is ridiculous for Elect. sav and others to be picked on and criticized when in fact It looks like you have totally different situations....so if you can't go to the gym and lift for 2 hours or run all you want, a lot of these diets are the only choice available.. I don't know why everyone is still pissing all over each other and i would suggest LS and GG go and start a " ATKINS IS A FRAUD THREAD"....that is your right, but i like exchanging some ideas here and will be totally hones with you...i actually made some tomato soup like DB said last night and it was awesome.. can we get back to just discussing some low carb ideas and things of that nature?
Since LS and GG aren't trading, they probably have nothing better to do, so they may as well boost their post counts. As for Max, I don't know why he's involved. As for the tomato soup, glad you liked it. Got the recipe in England, though it also calls for beef base and pepper, if you want to fool with it. As for your idea regarding discussing low carb ideas, that would seem to be of greater benefit to a greater number of people than a lengthy discussion - or any discussion at all - of GG's body.
DB BTW...i have a huge Basil tree so it was even better with the fresh basil....FYI, this morning before i left i put on the ol crock pot to make a beef stew....Celary, onions, beef, carots and potates....The hard part will be not eating all the potaoes ...but i love doing that...you get home at 5 and a hot meal is waiting for you.
Now that is funny!!! (amazing....max throws out challenges, salivates over the possibility of getting personal information, and maybe even nude photos of men....who'd 'a thunk??? LOL) Peace, RS
As usual, another of your personal attacks created from your rather vivid (and lurid) imagination. In any event, GG is most likely one of your ilk; someone who makes outlandish claims and can't back them up.
Interesting... here are some quotes from one of the articles listed on how to lose fat and get ripped by championship body builders: "To bring your bodyfat level down, you must increase your protein intake and reduce carbohydrates. At least half your diet should consist of high-protein foods like turkey, chicken, tuna and protein drinks; 35% from complex carbs including dark leafy vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, carrots; and 15% of calories from fat. " - NASSER EL SONBATY ""I agree with you, Nasser, high protein and low carbs are the best for losing bodyfat, getting sliced and keeping maximum muscularity. The glycogen from carbs holds water and can make you look bloated. "I've found that the body burns fat more efficiently on a low-carb diet. The reason? When your body doesn't have a lot of glycogen, it must use another source for energy. That means fat." -MIKE FRANCOIS "I'm often asked about my precontest diet. I eat a lot of protein â 5-6 pounds (roughly 600 grams of protein) of fish each day â which has helped me pack on lean muscle. Other sources of protein may work well for you, like ground turkey, chicken breast and egg whites. "Watching your diet is only half of getting ripped. You also need to do cardio work. That was one of the biggest mistakes I made: not doing enough." - KEVIN LEVRONE peace axeman
Venutos take on carb Vs Protein diets: So whatâs the deal? Is the low carb/high protein diet the best way for bodybuilders to get ripped or just another fad? From a bodybuilding standpoint, the answer is an unequivocal yes; reducing carbohydrates really works! Most bodybuilders can't get that "ripped" look without some degree of carb restriction. Almost every bodybuilder or fitness competitor Iâve ever met uses some version of the low carb diet when getting ready for competition. The problem is, most people fail to take into account their goals and their unique body type, so they follow the advice of the latest "low-carb guru" and take the carb restriction too far. Zero carb or close to zero carb diets are in my opinion, TOTAL INSANITY! The other extreme; the high carb, very low fat diet, isnât the best approach for bodybuilders either. These diets (60-70% carb, 20-30% protein and 10% or less fat) were trendy with bodybuilders for a while, especially back in the 80âs and early 90âs (Remember Nathan Pritkin, Dean Ornish and Robert Haas?), but their popularity quickly faded. Those who tried it discovered that it wasnât nearly as effective as the low to moderate carb, high protein diet. -------------------------------------- Looks like Dean Ornish's methods did not bode well in the body building world. http://www.athleticnutrition.com/Article81.shtml Here is a very interesting quote: "The only way to determine how many grams of carbs is right for YOU is to experiment until you find your "critical level." If you start dropping body fat rapidly at 200 grams a day, then why on earth would you subject yourself to the torture of going even lower and doing one of those 30-40 grams a day "ketogenic" diets? Why kill yourself?" In other words.... similar to Atkins but starts from the other end. Find out what YOUR bodies carb threshold is. And.... "I also recommend getting off ALL processed carbs including bread, crackers, pretzels, pasta, bagels and switching only to natural, unprocessed carbs like vegetables, oatmeal, yams, rice, potatoes, etc. That single change will go a long way in helping you get leaner (and healthier too!)" peace axeman
More Venuto comments: "Once you have determined your optimal daily caloric intake for weight gain, the next step is to divide those calories into the right ratios of protein, carbohydrate and fat and eat foods in the proper combinations at every meal. The ideal macronutrient ratios for weight gain are 30% protein, 55% carbs, and 15% fat (give or take 5% either way)." Venuto ratio: 55/30/15 Zone ratio: 40/30/30 Interesting. He basically added MORE protein, and removed some fat. peace axeman
