Axe, I saw the guy live last night, so I am just getting acquanted with it and do not know his work intimately. Honestly, I have no idea, unless you are ill, or are a professional athlete looking for every drop of and edge, how someone can eat the way he is suggesting. nitro
The great benefit I have found with the metabolic diet (besides the even sugar levels) is the fat loss. I'm very happy with the FAT loss not the weight loss which is minimal. My strength has actually increased since being on this diet. As a former competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder I find this amazing. When dieting for a meet or competition I would always lose a substantial amount of muscle mass along with the fat and strength loss. My arms and chest are larger and my waist has gone from 37" to 33.75". All while experiencing no hunger for the evil CARBS! My bodyweight has only decreased 4 lbs. From yrs of records preparing to compete I formulated that it took 5-6 lbs of bodyweight loss for each inch loss off my waist. After losing 3+" off my waist I would (on a conventional diet) expect to lose 15-18 lbs of bodyweight. By losing only 4 lbs this time I believe the other 11-14 lbs is increased muscle mass which explains my larger arms and chest as well as strength increases.
yes, but you don't get something from nothing. you CAN not get fat without exercising. i am NOT at all recommending not exercising. i'm just making a point. i calculate my calories every single day. my total calories adjust each day according to how much exercise i do and if i'm trying to gain muscle, lose fat, maintain my size, etc. if it takes 2600 calories to maintain your weight (assuming your nutrient ratios are also correct) and you eat 2600 (actually, you need to eat about 10% extra because of the thermic effect/digestion).... anyway, if your intake is balanced, you're not going to get fat. you won't get something from nothing, just like you can't drive a car on a flat surface/no wind, etc. without the proper amount of gas/energy to get you there. there's more to it than this, but i just wanted to make a few points. ALSO, something to remember is that even if you have the right KNOWLEDGE, it isn't enough. you need to ACT on the correct knowledge CONSISTENTLY. this is the hard part. think about it, not only do most people have no clue how many calories they need, etc., EVEN IF THEY DID KNOW, THEY DON'T HAVE THE DISCIPLINE TO DO STICK TO IT ANYWAY! being someone who has lifted weights/exercised/counted calories daily for years, i easily understand why everyone is out of shape. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DO THE RIGHT THING EVERY DAY. it's easier just to forget about it and get out of shape. but if you recognize that everyone else can't do it, you can use that as motivation for YOU to DO what everyone can not do. one more thing...imo, people should forget about the idea of temporary diets. if you do the right thing, get into shape, and then stop and go back to your old habits, you'll just get out of shape again. truly deciding to be in shape is a lifestyle change that you make and you stick to it til you die.
That's why going by weightloss alone can be a mistake. How you look and how your clothes fit is just as important since muscle also has weight.
The Chinese are relatively much healthier to Americans, less obesity, less cardiac and cancer problems. They eat red meat, not as a main portion of their meal, but in small bits to flavor the meal. (Don't confuse "chinese food" with chinese food.) Compare that to areas where the meal centers on the red meat and diary. My wife has a picture of a Russian woman and a Chinese woman on the fridge.
I like the caveman analogy. But of course, I'm an assh**e trader. Our metabolism hasn't evolved enough to keep up with the human invention of refined sugars and processed starches. 5,000 years is not long enough for complex biological systems to adapt. If you can't catch it or gather it - don't eat it. Going with this further, I will not bother with foreplay or romance from now on. I'll simply whack my wife over the head with a club and have my way with her.
Wife? Just whack every hot girl you come across over the head and have your way with her. peace axeman
