ANYONE INTERESTED IN GETTING IN SHAPE, PAY ATTENTION!!!!! AXE, i didn't even buy his manual. he is a writer and has free info on many sites. if you just read his articles, you can get a very good idea of what he does. his stuff is good. i'm a no bs person and i recommend what he says. HERE IS WHAT TO DO: go to this site and read articles by tom venuto, be sure to go back from 1999 to the present: http://www.athleticnutrition.com/Archives.shtml also, on venuto's site, go here: http://www.fitren.com/resuart.cfm?compid=18 at the above link, click on the selector at the top of that page and read those articles; they're free. THESE 2 LINKS ALONE WILL GET YOU ON THE RIGHT TRACK. after you figure out basically how to maintain energy balance (or get it positive or negative), THEN get into adjusting protein/carb/fat ratios according to your needs. i posted a bunch of links in the "PUMPING IRON" thread. those links are pretty much all you need. read all that and make an excel spreadsheet. then it's just a matter of DOING IT.
Ok....here is a thought provoking quizical question: How are calories measured......? How many know this here? part 2: extrapolate the calorie counts to food labels and calorie charts and its meaning to the human being.... I can't write the answers upside down: question 1: for foods-burning the food in a bomb calorimeter and measuring the heat produced. question 2- very little Michael B.
I do not mean to be rude....but i am not having a conversation with you just now.....I am posting facts ......axeman mentioned calorie counting and others here have eluded to a simplification of losing weight. I can expound a little further if I am not boring you. Michael B.
i try to drink a lot of water each day. a good calculation i found is: bodyweight in pounds x .66 = ounces of water per day p. s. i'm naturally not a very hairy person. i don't have 1 strand growing out of my chest. lol
Dealers pushing junk. Deliberately using their advantages to fill kids full of nasty chemicals that damage their health. If you think it is OK to sell children cocktails of poisons then you are very naive. Of course they crave the shit, it's addictive. And the producers know it. Business is not more important than health.
Who's to blame if the parents allow their children to partake of "poison", marketing or no marketing? I think the beef and dairy industry is poison. You may not. Some people think McDees is one of the food groups, you may not. People need to become informed about matters of nutrition, then then make the right choices for themselves and their children. To me a big crisp salad is tastier and more satisfying than a big mac, but it wasn't always this way. I made conscious choices after seeking out and becoming informed. Their marketing machine can't touch me, I am rock solid in my convictions. Just say 'NO'. The nutritional knowledge is out there. It has been out there in the media, on internet in your libraries for a long long time now. Fast food hamburger joints thrive, people continue to consume hundreds of pounds of beef each year despite the fact that FAT kills. French fries are an american staple, you telling me we didn't know fries are bad for you? That we've been duped by the "criminal businessmen? LOL. We know, and we've known for a long time. We eat them anyway. Who's fault is this .. the business man merely giving them what they wiss, or the customer who knows better but doesn't care? The customer is always 'right", and he always gets what he wants. When we stop wanting the poison it will go away, not before.
Good for you. And as to whose fault it is that people are allowed to sell known toxins to children I think it is an over simplification to just blame the parents. It is afterall, all within the law. And business will always take it to the edge.
