  6. So for you muscle experts in this thread....here you go,

Even if you train your brains out.....the best drug free atheletes maximum muscle weight gained in one year measured correctly has been found at 18 1/4 lbs.

You expets here should remember the physiological dynamics you learned in grad school. I am assuming you are all grad students the way you drop names and studies off the top of your head.

You must wait on nature to grow muscle. Muscle proteins are replaced every 6 months. The limiting rate of turnover of muscle cells indicates that it is impossible , even in the biggest men, to grow more than about 1 ounce of new muscle per day.....23 lbs per year. Ok you can use tricks to make your muscles look bigger by making your muscles hold more water. BUT THE GROWTH OF NEW MUSCLE TISSUE IS ABSOLUTLY CONTROLLED BY PHYSIOLOGY.

  10. "Most recently, a group of Brazilian researchers showed an impressive 3.28 kg muscle increase in one month using body builders consuming an average of 2.0 g/kg/day [protein] (Maestá, Cyrino, Corrêa, Bicudo, Angeleli, Tsuji, and Burini 1998)."
    http://www.nwspine.com/Lib-Protein_Permu_II.htm

    3.28 x 2.2 = 7.216 lb in one month.
