I work out, not "real training", I'm sure. Soccer, right now is probably my best exercise. Our games are two 24 minute halves. And we haven't had many subs, so it's alot of running and pretty sustained. Hoops used to be that way for me when I was younger and would play 3-4 hours and stay on the court because my teams would win. I'm going to start up Yoga again, and that's an hour and half in sweltering heat.

Still, I'm lucky to get the 3rd workout in each week.

For me, however... it's still got to do with serving size. And that I love bread and pasta. I'll echo what another mentioned, I think people focus on the induction stage of Atkins, which is not a healthy life-long diet.

  4. I just have to laugh as i hear each poster and every doctor BASH Atkins......yet not understand what he is saying,,,,unbelievable....for the last time: He does not say to give up carbs for life ...he says to keep it to 20 crab grams or less per day...then reintroduce it back in slowly until you have a good feel for how much you can handle....another annoyance is the constant propaganda labeling of " HIGH FAT",,,,,HE does not suggest a high fat diet...its' HIGH PROTEIN.....there is a big difference.....You can eat all the fish and chicken you want ....is that not good foe your heart? He does allow though that you can eat a steak or bacon or eggs if you want to....but you could just as soon eat nothing but no fat tuna or chicken if you desire..Lastly, i still am laughing at Dean Orgish's simple " I propose a low and low carb diet".....well DUH!!!!...if it was that simple for the people to just pick and choose and eat Low FAt Low calories food, we wouldn't need these doctors.....the fact of the matte is there are some huge people walking around who can't do it on their own....but Dean also says in the column " eat smaller portions" LMAO!!!!....that's like telling a drunk at an AA meeting to " just stop drinking ok?"

  6. Look, your DISCIPLINE (or lack thereof) is YOUR problem. facts are facts. And the facts could not care one iota about your weaknesses.

The facts are Dean Ornish's research is the only difinitive proof out there at this. The rest of what you say is a mix of uninformed opinion, pure spec, wishful thinking and selective perception.

No one here has characterized the diet espoused by Dean Ornish. No one here is even close. That means no one here is reading the link.

Don't just believe whatever feels good or right. GET THE FACTS!

  7. Don't you understand this means very little. What's your blood lipid profile? What's the rest of your diet compried of? What's your daily fat intake? This is the stuff you need to know and watch.

There are alot of people with flat stomachs walking around with heart disease.

  8. There is no direct proof Atkins is safe. There is lots of circumstantial proof Atkins is not. However, there is difinitive proof backing Dean Ornish's recommendation. Which horse you gonna stake your life on, that's what you must answer.

We've been through all this before. You can rebut every post and be a jackass, or you can start your own Cornish thread. Your choice, though I suspect I already know what it will be.

  10. You're the jackass with your weak attempt at sarcasm (Cornish?).

We're talking diets and proof here. And yes I am effectively rebutting every post, aren't I. You don't want to listen, go play elsewhere. What are you afraid of?
