  1. Watched a program about the longevity, and who
    has the most.

    Japanese! Specifically... Okinawan (sp?).

    Guess how their diets differ??

Meat and lots of green stuff.
And more importantly, overall, far less calories than
the average american eats a day.

The other big point was: LOW STRESS SIMPLE LIVES.
Man... I could use some of that.

Your health is worth more than mere wealth. Lose the weight you want, do more exercise have a real breakfast ( with little or no carbs) . clear your head for a couple of weeks while in hte induction phase of the diet then attck trading with renewed vigour and confidence ( you will be 20 lbs lighter, sexier and will have the knowledge you can do whatever you put your mind to)

    Peace,
    Scott

  6. Well, to get jump started ya gotta have something to ease into it. Atkins styled regimen effectively wipes out the starvation feeling of low calorie diets which typically are 1200-1500 per day. Try trading on that.

Low Cal- breakfast: 2 slices of dried toast, 1 egg. Coffee w/skim milk.

Atkins- breakfast: 3 egg Bacon cheese omelette cooked in butter. Coffee w/heavy whipping cream.

Down 55 lbs. to near pre-marital weight.

And I suppose the Eskimos GROW their rice, potatoes, wheat and sugar high above the arctic circle to supplement their high protein high fat diet consisting of whale, seal, fish, caribou and the occasional polar bear?

Numerous examples of populations around the globe not only exist but THRIVE on a similar high protein, high fat, low carb diet.

Refined carbohydrates were not introduced into the American Diet until the 1870's. Thirty years later, the first heart attack occurred on the American Continent. Coincidence?

Keep in mind from a physiological standpoint the body utilizes fuel in the following order: alcohol, sugars, carbs, fats, protein. If you eliminate or significantly reduce the first three components, your body will burn fat as FUEL.

The Eskimos have been practicing this GIMMICK long before Dr. atkins ever was born.

    opinion never equates to Fact.

  9. i couldn't give a shit waht eskimos do, i don't live in an igloo. i look at the research and use reason to make my judgements. high fat/ high protein/low carb diest are inherently DANGEROUS to your health.

LOW FAT/ LOW PROTEIN/ HIGH CARBS>> thats the way to fly!

I'm in Oregon, the granola capital of the world. I sit typing wearing my Birkenstocks to prove it. And while it's pretty liberal(left thinking) here, we actually send our child to a rather mainstream(conservative) preschool. They sometimes take the kids to MacDonalds. In the year and a half we've been here, they've taken them twice. The first time, in good liberal fashion, we cringed. But then we found out that they walked there. And all the kids in this daycare are in great shape, no fatties here. I've walked in numerous times at lunch to hear the gals making the kids finish their veggies or fruit before getting seconds on starches. I've been impressed with them.

Oh, where am I going with all this you might ask?

Today was the day they went to MacDonalds for lunch. So I picked up my kid there, instead of school. Well, I was tempted, I got lunch there. God, what rubbish. I'm always amazed at how these fast food joints stay in business. I didn't supersize nothing, it wasn't that good and I feel bloated. Bleech.
