the basic building block of market is simple.....market is either breaking out of a channel or the breakout fails.

a pullback entry is a failed channel breakout.

a so called reversal bar is a failed channel breakout and so the logical target is the bottom or top of the channel.
if that channel is very narrow then the reversal is [called] a pullback
if the channel is wide then the reversal may be called a leg or a bear swing in a bull channel.

    you are right.

i know it is possible in certain market conditions to make winning trades.

i would not have tried to make money for 30 years if it was impossible

why did i say there is no edge, then!

i was sparking a discussion on the theoretical side of the underlying rational for trading which involves a consistent use of probability risk and reward.

so those who say i am an idiot or am wrong or that i know nothing [everyone knows something]
are missing the whole point of this:i just was wondering if someone would add something to this cocktail

there is a fourth aspect apart from probability reward risk, which is never mentioned and that is time to target....if it takes ten years to target then probably only Buffet would be enamored

i trade channel breakouts and channel breakout failures.

that one line covers the entire universe of market structure.

when you study the micro aspect of market structure it is called price action.

thee definitions are not set in stone but is only a tool in communication
