    JJ,

Thanks for clearing up your indicators. I was trying to figure out why the first bar would have an impact on the indicators, but now I see that we are using different settings.

I appreciate your thread here as it's given me another entry signal for the mini's.

    Thanks again.

    I appologize for confusing you.

I should just keep any comments directed toward pivot trading.

Going long the stronger index and shorting the weaker index is an edge for me and seems to work. It has, also, been a big help to me when I get a signal to go long, to be long the strongest index and visa versa.

Again, I'll keep comments to the pivots.

    Thanks

  4. While on the face of it, trading when all of your ducks-line-up is the optimal way to trade (and certainly what I am trying to demonstrate here, as a habit to be developed by every successful trader), even those aforementioned successful traders (even the most well educated and experienced of them) makes judgement calls which have a certain element of uncertainty to them. In such a case, hedging a position would not be inapropropriate.

This is an extremely important aspect of successful (read: profitable) trading. Our edge is:

    1. Knowing the general market direction: Pivot Trend
    3. Using simple indicators which can instantly give us information on the Current Trend
    2. Having a setup (or two) which we can use consistently to determine when we have an opporunity to make a profitable trade

Every single trader entered the game with a learning curve that they had to climb (assuming they survivied it) on their way to becoming a successful trader.

While you make posts on this thread US London Trader which qive the appearance of being a seasoned pro, your honesty and forthrightness on other threads has shown that you had your learning phase(s) - as in multiple - too, so please don't criticize too harshly. But your point is well-taken, and the faster a trader assimilates it, the sonner they will become a very profitable trader.

Your input, observations and (most importantly for moi) information that you share on this thread is extremely valued and greatly appreciated Don, so keep it up.

Third day with almost the exact same setup (summer trading) :( .

If we get a setp off of the median pivot or S1, let's see how much profit we can get from it. The real profits in this market below to the overnight traders - which we aint.

There actually is a reversal sale off the median pivot, rise and shine, the early bird gets the worm today.

  5. If the CCI 50 Histogram holds the Short, so do we.

It's the tell that we are going to use to tell us the direction of the market.

P.S. It's not germane to the thread, but I am currently Long NQ and Short ES as I have conflicting signals and conflictingb information in two different models on two different indices ...

    Best Regards,

    JJ

  6. Bailed on trade with (1.5) pts ES.

Looks like we're going to get our afternoon sell-off after all.

    Best,

  7. Guess who won?

So, until such time as it changes, the NQ (and related indices) can be consisdered to be a leading indicator to the ES (and related indices).

    Anymore helpfull info, Don?

  9. Yeah, that's a crucial part of good trading that I'd better tell'em ... when to run away!

But that's OK folks. NQ is currently abutting its R2 level (while the ES is at R1 (hmmmm). It's very early, the market isn't going to stay up here all day.

    Later,

    JJ
