simple stuff works but i agree no one wants to display honesty by showing proof of them taking their own medicine.......recording trades live. i am doing it here a loser's journal......read at own risk | Page 19 | Elite Trader trading is simple but you need to be organised in your head and be clear what you are doing. with valez you are sure what you are supposed to be doing. With brooks not so much.
though i quote Brooks there are hundreds out there who preach the same things. but you know how many people do what the preachers say !
@padutrader have you practiced the method yet? I accidentally found the yt video with Valez at Expo and honestly can say his MA 20/200 method is so simple that it immediately caught my attention. I cannot see a reason why it wouldn't work if its just simple PB-BO. A simple momentum play. When checking the NQ chart briefly I think it can work pretty well no matter what (E)MAs are used. Rules: 1) wait for a momentum into the direction of the faster MA 2) on a small adverse reaction place stop order right above candle high / below low 3) if not filled within 1 or 2 bars cancel the order. Of course it is discretionary so you need "clean" momentum and some screentime. Won't work in a choppy mayhem. The tricky part can be defining decent risk-management plan and setting the SL and PT size. But the simplest work the best from my experience. I would go about 1-1.5x ATR(5) or (10) and PT at least 1.6 or better 2 then M2BE after 1.5 open pnl reached. I really see no reason to buy anything else from him. The method is so simple and obvious
I have 2 main plays now that have basically made trading boring. The Velez trade setups and using the MFI Cross/divergence plays. Both are highly profitable, high win rate setups that basically are based on market fundamentals. Trading has never been more boring but never been more profitable either.
