It’s directional. If I have a material view I will seek to maximize returns on the view. I’ll usually position 3-10 days before an event depending on what’s going on.
That's a new on on me. What is a material view? nooberoo que. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Materialized_view
I guess that trading the news really matter when you're fond of long-time traing and fundamental analysis. Short-time trading doesn't require news mostly because everything there is analyzed due to technical analysis. You always check the trend movement, with a help of patterns like triangle, determine trend reversals and other things. I believe that if there will be a serious event in the world then it also affects short timeframes like 1M-1D, the price either will go down ot rise up sharply. And this is the only scenario when news affects short timeframes.
%% Good Victory points, KM. Even the WSJ [IBD also] publishes ''Facts Matter .Truth Matters More'' Quote or accurate paraphrase. MY plan does not require trading off fake news; but 80% of my ETFs are Very liquid. Strangely/ the less liquid stuff may move less on fake news...............................................................
the market in the world should always be monitored, and other news too, this can greatly increase your profit at work
Although it can be profitable, I don't advise news trading. It is very challenging to understand and even harder to put this strategy into practise. In addition to requiring a significant amount of time and effort, your success is not guaranteed.
Trading the news in my point can be good as well as can go against you as well. Because without your own learning and effort you cannot succeed continuously on forex.
Most of my trades are based around a catalyst. A news event can be a catalyst. For example Monkeypox has been in the news lately and the companies that make a vaccine/treatment have been blowing up,SIGA,GOVX,TNXP etc.
