I agree on the back testing. I need to see the charts. Are you in Russian today so I promise you that. I was in simulation mode since last October. Fortunately my work situation have the screen on front of me during a regular session. So I was calling trades as they occur not looking backwards after days end.
Why can't EVERY DAY be like today! I think you would have to be on drugs to not make money on a day like today! ES, NQ...hell I am sure any stock based asset would have worked... Range was Huge 130 pts on NQ and 38 points on ES, those are the largest hi to low moves we have seen in a very long time, for ES back in Nov 2016 although there was a 200 pt range on NQ on June 9th... nothing else close until you go back to Jan 2015....and Futures volume was massive... merry Xmas in the middle of summer! happy day... see ya
%% Sounds right; tek stocks tend to trend better than S&P 500.Any disadvantages?? Sure but since 100% of foreclosures are caused by leverage, i dont worry about a paid off mortgage.
well I guess this long weekend started around 10AM CST... volume is like overnight volume, guess that is expected especially after yesterday and the holiday.. see ya
Alrighty... enough Sim trading NQ, I have back tested and live Sim NQ against my ES results, it is clear that for my strategy NQ is better.... so ,,, tomorrow is day #1 live trading NQ with real money... I will report in... as long as I stick to my rules it will workout fine...
well, volume has been horrible... but it is on ES as well... I figure if you can trade profitable in this environment than you can succeed when volume and volatility is better. Biggest #1 skill I have acquired in this environment..... DO NOTHING, DO NOT HIT GO! cause there are so many "almost" there signals
Hey Xela, how wide is your stop on NQ? I want to use 5 points, but I think that may be too tight... maybe 7 is better... thoughts?
I position my initial stop-loss a tick beyond the most recently-formed swing-high/low (and if that's too far from my entry-point, then I don't take the trade). I find this much better and more realistic than having a set distance. I'm guessing that you mean "ticks", not "points"? 5 points is 20 ticks ... for me, 5 ticks would be too tight. All these things depend on the volatility and time-frame, of course.
