well,I spent 3 hours reading this entire thread. amazing that it was started in 2006.... how hard can it be to go to an ephemeris.....plot the new and full moon dates with a vertical line on a candlestick chart and watch what happens a few days around the full moon...... combine that with any simultaneous contact of trendlines,s/r points, fib levels (especially the 50 % fib)....what else ... a few oversold indicators...etc and you might have a tradable moment.
One of the points I liked about that research paper sited in this thread....was that the study inicated a Greater influencial effect of the moon's influence in ....Emerging Market ...indexes,countries, etc.... because small caps were investments bought by more individual traders/investors/ i.e. humans,as opposed to industrial traders and systems in the large cap...and therefore the individual human who is more 'influenced in mood and impulsed by the energy of the full moon....get it ?... it made me wonder how this concept/evidence would play out in the Forex market.... would that be a market where individual human-emotion based energy would play a greater role in price action, market sentiment etc.... and therefore more of a market where the moon has an influence..... Yoohoo?.... any thoughts ?

  4. Today, May-08 is Full Moon. We did not get a turning point in the market today but an attempt was made yesterday. Coincidence or not, the market seems jittery. I guess if we start a major dump on Monday it will be close enough to the Full Moon date to count.

  5. i checked the moon calendar and it seems the Full Moon phase spans several days. May 09 and 10 are actually the fullest days judging by the pics. Looks like the market pretty much has to dump on Monday.

shortie,I'm starting to watch the new and full moon cycles now to see what it adds to the picture. I would like to keep this thread alive .I think it could be a valuable tool to use,as yoohoo described.
I plotted all the new and full moons recently..... it looks like the influence of the full moon, as a 'long' directing energy.... starts maybe as early as 2 or 3 days ahead of exact full.... youre right, the exact full moon was may 9...but the move up in the euro/usd...what I am trading.... started a few days earlier,at key s/r point.... around 1.32 area.
and now,I'm looking to see what it does going into may 24,the next new moon...and will that start a downmoving energy.
I'm just in the early stages of examining the correlations if there are any, so I cant yet say I know how to 'see' it. except that the few days before the full moon did mark the last big upward movement.I might say that if the full moon zone,of a 3 day period before and 3 day after..... something like that?.... marks the window of upward movement. That would be my first impression.

nice moon calendar shortie. I use a standard ephemeris myself.
I'm sure people are prone to laugh about this idea, but I would take it seriously ,since I'm an astrologer. I have no problem seeing the idea working.
