HAH! You have to qualify that. NT7 or NT8? Because NT7 is a dog. Let me tell you about OCO on NT7. TPS reports anyone?
And I tell you why. Because they are cutting serious costs and come up with those web versions that are as unstable as it gets. Also they have expanded their bandwidth and latency to exchanges in major ways and at such pace that anyone who knows the ins and outs of coding up such infrastructure understands that such pace is begging for trouble. I agree that no backend infrastructure is free of occasional errors and fully side with you that when the frequency of outages crosses a line then serious questions should be raised. I recommend you to vote with your wallet, that is the only language those guys understand. They could not care less about a few anonymous rants, but heads roll when their account reps start losing major accounts. Cut into where it really hurts and you will find out what fabric they are really made up of. I had custom liquidity pools made by 2 large fx ecn brokers because of the volume I send their way each month. You can bet they listen very carefully when I have a major gripe with an issue. Even with IB I generally always get someone on the chat or phone within seconds. That may not be the case with some 500 dollar funded accounts which is why guys like you can really make a difference.
so the response time of IB chat service is dependent on the fund in the account? I thought they have first-come-first-serve service.
If you really believe that then you are naive. Of course they tier accounts. Like every other company. But then I work out of Hongkong where customer service reps and trade execution personell get a lot less cases than in Europe or the US even on a per rep basis. I experienced longer wait times whenever I had to speak to someone during US market hours. But never to the degree others are describing But back to TT
I laugh when people ask me why do I need more than one trading account (different brokers). It's simple...when that emergency happens...I won't get fucked. wrbtrader
TT issued an update on the August 13th problem. (TT also had an order problem on the 2nd.) I was using their order routing on both days. https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/blog/2019/08/16/update-on-the-tt-outage-on-august-13-2019/
Both. Finally porting the code to 8. 8 speed is crazy for backtest. Able to run 10 years on 1 hour charts in about 30 seconds. Multi core
