'Trading Systems' forum

  1. Isn't a 'trading system' basically the same thing as the Automated Trading section of this forum?
    Seems kind of slightly redundant.

If you ask me, 'automated trading' isn't trading. Neither is having a 'trading system'.
Those phrases kind of imply you have no skill or strategy or tactics or wisdom as a trader.

But rather you just throw like 100 darts or 1,000 darts at a board blindly, and manage those very incrementally. or 'managing risk' as some call it. Don't let any single dart deviate too much by hitting the door or a picture frame or person o_O,

I guess some people are traders, or true traders -- While others simply manage risk, even if that means having zero profit essentially.
I guess that's why everyone is ashamed to reveal their trading performance. -- They will either have big losses from attempting to take risks/gains, or no performance as a result from being too conservative in their approach.

It's not enough to simply manage risks and play or have a strong defensive game.
You need to have an equally strong Offensive, tactical skill game as well to not just survive, but Thrive overall in the long run of this trading game.

I personally kind of hate coffee, I'd rather eat steak. and whip cream. and Gatorade. or champagne.
My words are more golden than Mark Douglas' babble about psychology and managing random expectations/outcomes.

Trading is any short-term speculation on financial markets behaviour that has the potential to lead to profits. No part of trading involves sitting on a high horse and dictating what is and what is not trading.

That's what the Strategy Development forum and Automated Trading forums are for.
