Anyone out there trading softs? Cocoa, coffee, sugar... Please share comments, web resources... TIA alberto
For starters try NYBOT.com Sugar, nice and steady, a lot of calendar spread volume a lot of daily volume with 12-18 pt range. Coffee-you are on your own their my friend, very volatile had more than their fair shre of limit up/down days. Pit brokers can butcher your order, so don't give mkt orders to many times. cocoa- genrally quiet markets punctuated by 3 standard deviation moves 1-2 a year. Check out spread book by courtney smith which deals a little bit about softs. Good luck
Also Alaron has free daily commentaries on commodities... This is their link to softs commentaries: http://www.alaron.com/research/softs.htm
Alberto: Of the three, I prefer the cocoa and sugar markets as far as applicability of TA on those charts. For resources, you might find the following site useful. http://www.ino.com and in particular the links provide in: http://www.ino.com/resources/agricultural/ Kermit
