I am considering trading SMH, and I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what to expect. How do fills compare to QQQ? If I do begin trading it, immediate fills will be important. Are market orders relatively safe, or do I need to stick with limit orders? How is the liquidity, can you get a thousand shares filled easily? How about 10,000? I use IB, is there any way to use SMART without getting routed to AMEX? Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

  2. than QQQ

  3. definately harder to get fills on compared to SPY or QQQ...
ARCA usually will be on the inside, will fill most orders, but they have backed away from time to time....the other alternative is NYSE..usually he's spread a nickle or more...and 3-5cents outside

but the % moves are bigger than QQQ..so winners are good on it...and I'll put stops on NYSE and usually don't get too much slipage there

    good luck

  4. Don't think arca can 'back away', they can move, and move quickly, which is not the same thing.
