Today's results are typical for this scenario.
All day long slow-bleeding downtrend with the close at the lows.
Usually, there are not that many deals days like that and a small loss at the end.
Yesterday, we could even close with the small profit but we had a sizable loss in NUS where the sharp drop was initiated by some.

Today was quite an unusual day. Very good market's scenario for our robots.
However, the long positions initiated by our robots did not have any bids behind them and finished flat.
Maybe, everybody prepared for the End of the World? :)

    Best scenario for xBars.
Especially pleased that he appeared in the short period between the holidays.

We continue posting results in our journal after the break related to holidays.
First trading day after New Year on our trading account went quietly.
Small market range did not allow any significant changes and we closed flat for the day.
Hopefully , we'll have plenty of good action this year.
Good luck to everybody in a new year!
    Best regards, AntTrader team.

Do you remember fairytale "Alice in Wonderland"?
The portfolio of XBars looked like a dream yesterday.
Even at the market's low we had a profit.
More than that, at some point all positions were profitable despite general market weakness.
Last time it happened, Knight lost $440 million.

We got a mass entrance of Pattern we call Toughie. Despite of a good start, there was no further development.
However, there were no big losses intraday.
On market's lows the portfolio barely moved.
It became obvious that it would not be any good action.
Overall, this was a neutral day which is typical for low volatility markets.

There was a very common scenario yesterday for uptrend market.
Sharp drop in the morning followed by the reversal till the end of the day.
These days we usually get several Xbars that end up in a profit as market markets bid up anything that fell in the beginning.

  10. Which metric are you using to determen which stocks get out of range? I am testing a system that seems quite similar to your xbar, but we often hold different positions. My system is using 1 ATR, what do you use? (stdDev?)
