    A. MTEC - makes the antidote for nerve gas attacks. Very profitable, great balance sheet. Just blew away earnings and guided up.

    B. DHB and AH -- they make all the bullet proof vests worn by our boys going into Iraq

    C. SRX VNX -- they do the IT services for the CIA and DoD Intelligence. They've been very busy lately. These two stocks are more in the growth category. The other 3 are more value.

    D. CDCY -- they make blast resistant windows for embassies.

    E. I've also played SSSS. They make urban attack vehicles but they do too much stuff in the offshore oil drilling sector. Not a pure play.

I'm not playing RTN or LMT or BA for several reasons:
    1. They are the obvious ones and have already run up. As it stands, they are not cheap.
    2. They kill people. DHB AH MTEC CDCY SRX VNX save lives.

  3. The US lose? What, like Iraq is going to use their sophisticated air force to destroy a few carrier groups?

The Iran thing could complicate thigns....if the US accuses iran of this shit, and then attacks iraq, as much as iran hates iraq, you can bet they will be taking potshots at us and british troops.

Imagine the north korea opening the dmz was just a ploy to invade south korea when the us is tied up in iraq....

Anywaysm the implications are far reaching, and the market actually began a rally after the gulf war. Lets hope for a short one....

  4. This market wants to go up. We just need to clear this hurdles. Look at todays trading, it was slow and choppy to the upside, but they refused to sell off. Offers were getting lifted almost as fast as they got posted. They sucked everyone in in the morning, took it down so the specialists could get long, and then chopped it up. Even the last few weeks, the seller are just not moving most stocks that much down. The general market indexes just seem to go down because of a few large cap stocks. A nerve racking bottoming process.

You just gotta love the typical American.

Sitting around trying to figure out to profit from war, while cavalierly speculating on who to make war on next.

Is it any wonder that much of the world hates us?

But the real common thread here is the fact that most see a real and present danger, but few have any intention of taking up arms themselves. As is so typical of the loud mouth American male, he wants some other sucker to actually do the fighting. And of course if there is no concern for his fellow American's wellbeing, there is even less for the millions of people who's homeland he is so willing to destroy.

Yep, you just gotta love us - because few other nations do.

So boys, have you decided on the best stock "plays" yet? After all, that's all that really matters here.

I don't know which specific stocks I'd buy but my overall strategy would be as follows:

Go short if the US looks like winning
Go long if the US looks like losing

    THE US DOES NOT LOSE!

  7. Not yet, we're still discussing it. We are traders. Not traitors. Learn the difference. Would you condemn any other businessperson for preparing for an impending geopolitical event? I doubt it.

And for the soldiers who face a campaign in Iraq, my prayers are with them. And if the US requires my services in the struggle against the Islamic extremists attacking us, I am available.

So shut the fuck up Tampa.

So your prayers are with the poor slobs doing your bidding - how reassuring.

And as for my shutting the fuck up - I am sorry , but that ain't gonna happen. I rather enjoy pointing out the obvious. And it's obvious that you are a loud mouth punk who would stand by as others did the dirty work - and pray for them, but not much else.

What makes you think that Hitler, Milosivich, and Saddam weren't justified? Hitler was saving Europe from communism at the same time that FDR was accepting money from every socalist he could find. Do you think the Iron Curtain was a better alternative?Milosovich was no different than Lincoln. Who the hell are the Islamic Bosnians to split off from Yugo. And Saddam runs a secular state that beat Iran, which we weren't willing to do, kills a bunch of animal extremist Kurds and with quasi US permission invades the KINGDOM of Kuwait, a country that we know liberaly supports terror. In a sane world all three of these guys should have been our allies.
