Trading ODD LOTS

Discussion in 'Trading' started by swoop[TR], Jun 16, 2003.

  1. How are odd lots filled usually? For example:

I want to trade 156 shares of such and such. How does that trade affect my fill? Will I get a slower fill? Will I get a higher slippage on a market order?

    Should I stick with 100 - 200 - 1000 share lots?

  2. The size wont affect your fills.

  3. the nice thing about IB (amongst other nice things) is that when i get stuck with an odd lot fill, i can usually autoex TMBR at the NBBO...(for nazcrack)

you can throw odd lot limit orders at specialists, too, at the NBBO (or so it seems, but i've only done this maybe 5 times in my life) so i don't think you'd ever see a difference in fill when you trade stock in odd lots...

  4. no big deal. soes it.
