Rollover (1981) with Jane Fonda and Kris Krstofferson - takes place at a trading firm or bank maybe. Problems with oil and forex. Might work today too, haven't seen it in a long time. (must be 18 yo to watch it )
I'm not sure if some one mentioned it The Bank, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0308/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-4692471-1060124?ie=UTF8 was a great film to me as a trading system developer and researcher. I've been following a system that provides the same technology described on the film and it gives a very good inside to trading prediction systems based on chaos theory. Rogue Trader (1998) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ef=pd_bbs_1/102-4692471-1060124?ie=UTF8&s=dvd Another must!
Wow Wall Street, Bolier Room, neither of these movies has anything to do with trading. Sales maybe, but not trading.
You are right about Boiler Room, but in Wall Street the trading was in the details. You just had to be paying attention. I don't think anyone mentioned another Michael Douglas flick, "A Perfect Murder". Not directly about trading, however, he does plan to have his rich wife killed........to cover his enormous MARGIN CALLS. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9ABAhOTofK4
"Imagining Wall Street LARRY E. RIBSTEIN University of Illinois College of Law July 2005 U Illinois Law & Economics Research Paper No. LE05-017 Abstract: The 1987 film Wall Street is one of the most popular films dealing with business, and for many people provides an enduring image of capitalism. The film is therefore a good illustration of filmmakers' portrayal of business, and how this portrayal can influence public perceptions and misconceptions. This is important as public misconceptions of business, in turn, can contribute to the regulatory environment. This article discusses the view of business presented in the film, contrasts this view with an alternative, and more realistic, narrative, and shows how the film may have influenced subsequent regulation. http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=771724
I learned about a very old movie. It was made right before 29 crash. It is called Wolf of Wall Street. Can not seem to be able to located it anywhere though.
Google is your friend (if this info is correct). Search for wolf on this page and the poster named 4LOM states that it's on Disc 3 and is named "The Money Machine." http://www.dvduell.de/_forum/viewtopic.php?p=2470&sid=8ed9056be9b04f9278f8909bbf991aee See here to view the contents of disc 3 and to purchase the discs (7 in all): http://www.unseen-cinema.com/ It seems you may need to buy all 7 discs just to get that one movie. I saw disc 5 for sale individually, but not disc 3. Maybe if you contacted them? If you get the dvd, I'd love to borrow it to see the movie (or we could make other arrangements, just pm me). Yes, I'm bored.
