I second that. Every losing traders' "hope" overrides common sense when listening to somebody's profitable approach to the market, and many times they end up down another dead-end alley. If you're successful, and have the data to back it up, then why not publish your results? Why is everyone so secretive, yet wanting the public to listen to their ideas? Where's the beef is the question; doesn't the public have the right to know if there's any "Beef" in the hamburger?

If you publish charts and opinions all day yet lose money in your own account what good is what you say? If you do make money and give away your secrets, then your an amazing person, and deserve everyone's respect.

You cannot please everybody. It is impossible. Its a simple matter to ignore posters that you don't agree with and go ahead and do your thing. You know the market is equally devided between the pros and the cons and have learned to live with it and thrive. You can do the same here.

Perfectly said...Hitman is a great example of this behavior. I respect him greatly for it.

Presumably hostility in bulletin board forums is not the reason for quitting the on-line trading chatroom business. To my knowledge this is at least the second such operation you have quit. Would you care to elaborate on your reasons for getting out of this type of business and just trading your own account?

Hey Brandon just wanted to let you know I've learned stuff from your posts on boards in the past and hope you continue to post now and then.

I'm always skeptical of people who go from trading to doing a chatroom or paid service although I think there are some very legitimate people doing that, most of the best traders just trade. It's interesting you're going the other way and just trading now. I would love to hear why and what your experience has been although that's fine if it's too personal. Hope to see you around.

  6. Dufferdon... stay

    Chartwiz ... stay

In life, people get on eachother's nerves... that is but human nature... I have concluded, through reading both of your posts, that you are both fine contributors to this board.

If you 2 guys can't get on, I suggest that you take it out with eachother via private messaging.

But both of you STAY ON ELITETRADER, and continue to share your knowledge so we all can learn.

As for Chartwiz using this forum to market his website, whether he was or wasn't is a subjective issue... But I tell ya something, we are all intelligent enough to understand whether or not a vendor will or will not be of value to us.

I have learnt a lot from Chartwiz on these boards for free... I will not be subscribing to his services... see, you can learn without paying!

Guys, let us not drive ANYONE away from Elitetrader... we are all professionals, we all have good days and bad days, we are all continually learning... Peace and Love to all of you.

  7. Glad to see some common ground, we will amaze ourselves with how much more we all have in common (as traders) than we have differences. I would welcome your input on these chat rooms (you can email in private the names if you like, although I am sure I will know of whom you speak). I have checked one "fax" trade service, and I have know about him for years, but people still pay him him for his "picks" - which is pretty silly...just like paying the guy at the racetrack for his "best bets"....:)

I have been reading the posts on this site for several weeks now and have noticed that many of them degenerate into chest pounding, cynical jabs, and outright personal attacks. It seems to generally start with self appointed, political correctness police, and seems to be the same ones no matter what the thread.

At this point, it is a toss up on whether or not there is enough good info on the sight to filter through all the meaningless dribble. I am going to stick with it for a while, cause some of the stuff is fascinating (hitmans diary), some informative for trade styles (chartwiz and many others) and some informative industry-wise (I have learned a tremendous amount about prop firms).

While I haven't posted much in the couple months I have been here, it has partly been because I have refrained from throwing my unneccessary and non productive opinion into the fray, something that the entire board would benifit from if other did the same.

    Ericdh,
Glad youy finally found something meaningful to add. It will help my trading I'm sure.
    And it's drivel, not dribble.
