the date provided jumped the gun. We're expecting to offer this market very shortly. Once offered, you'll be able to register for the product on our site (I'll make a post here when you can sign up to trade it).
are'nt there regulatory restrictions on certain foreign derivatives for USA citizens to trade? for example euronext -liffe stock futures I had thought these were unavailable for USA citizens trading wise ( which might be a good thing if their volumes are as low as SSF's here )
seth, there are restrictions for US residents - namely they can't trade it. cpt, korea has always been on the agenda but the priority of offering the product has changed. It is now a top priority and as soon as we iron out all the kinks in the offering we'll offer the product..
You can now sign up for trading permissions and data (no exchange fee) for the kospi on the IB web site. Symbol for futures and options is k200.
Just want to register my appreciation of IB providing data free wherever possible rather than trying to nickle and dime its customers. Much appreciated and noted.
I already signed up for trading permissions and data access yesterday, and I got a status of Approved. Now the next question is how do I chart the KOSPI? I am using Ensign-IB. If I am already approved for data access, shouldn't I be able to chart it in Ensign? What is the correct symbol, say for the Dec2005 futures: is it K200 Z5-KSE? I tried using this symbol in Ensign, but I get a message saying no refresh available for this symbol. Is this a matter of Ensign updating something so they can chart KOSPI? Or does my data access take a few days to be effective? wt
