    Placed stop a few cents above day high. I can't get a read on today's market. I still have in the back of my head.. SHORT ... and I can't get rid of it so I'm going to sit back the rest of the day and watch.

    Seanote, I noticed that your trades were starting to get a little looser than usual. Stopping trading is the right thing.

    Disclaimer, I find it v easy to say and v hard to do.

    also, I find that it oftens signals a change in trend when a good run starts to fade out.

    .

    I loosened the stops a bit yesterday and today due to the increased volatility. I might go back to 2K blocks if this volatility holds. To stay in line with my strategy in this type of market I need to widen my stops so I don't get whipsawed out. I've had 3 stops trigger today which is more in one day than any other day this year. That's a signal to turn off the computer and do something else. My futures trading wasn't too hot either today. Good luck to those still firing away.

    Cant tell you how many times I have done the same thing even though the markets are doing something different.
    That is the hardest part for me, doing what the markets seem to be telling me to do rather then what I have put into my mind to do. And after 2.5 years of Day Trading I still have the same issues although I have gotten better.

    Anyway I am looking for a short opportunity later :-}

    A footnote, I think most of us would agree this move is more short covering then anything else.

    I've never been one to fight the market, but it's diffulcult to trade long today after a huge rally yesterday and today knowing that this market will drop soon. When it does I don't want to be caught long. At this point of the day there is much more potential and possibility on the short side than the long.

    You just mentioned the market dropping. But could this rally last thru Friday as a quarterly markup????

    :cool:

    I don't know. These last 2 days have been confusing as hell. Instead of trading a market I have no read on, I'm going to wait and let things settle down. That might take a few days or a week. I'm not going to stop trading, but I may lower my share size and number of trades.
