Just an update. My 4 swing positions are still open:

    Short 5k AOL 10.45
    Short 5K QLGC 36.22
    Short 5K TYC 11.50
    Long 5K NVDA 12.40

TYC & NVDA are a ways out of the money but these are all swing trades over a few month period.

New swing trades that I'm looking at:

    Short MSFT
    Short QCOM
    Short VZ
    * Short AMZN (few day hold) @ 16.74
    - I'll take this position sometime today.

I mentioned I would close QLGC around $24 which looks to be in the near future. Today will most likely set a new volume high over the last year which is major signal of weakness. Institutions are selling and once this 2 day rally burns off this stock is gone. IMO.

  5. it's amazing how you manage to short often right at the HOD.

I didn't open the position @ 16.74. I was stating the current price and the fact that I planned on shorting at some point today which I did a few minutes ago. My post was real time.

What about EBAY , it looks like this could be a good short. High PE. Although a good company. I have been watching some of the sellers on ebay site and they don't seem to be getting prices nor are they posting the same volume of goods for sale.

Usually during the last hour after a stock has trended up consistently all day, a break out will occur. The breakout is usually a quick and hard gap then retraces a bit going into the close. You'll see I shorted AMZN after the break out to the upside. I was fortunate to estimate my short entry point towards the end of the break out.

I don't like EBAY short. This stock has been a power house through this horrible market and weathered the storm thus far. There are far too many candidates with more potential on the short side.
