  1. Hey guy's

I am in school for financial management, and getting my securities and my CFP. I was wondering what kind of trading jobs are over here and what do you need to work for them?

I was thinking of getting my Derivatives Market Specialist (DMS) Designation. Does anyone know much about this? What kind of career's are out there for this?

    Any help would be great!

  5. Lolo,

the trading industry is easy to get into in Canada, what are you talking about. Phone any Swiftttrade branch, tell them you have finished grade 4 and you want to try and trade their money. You will be hired and you can teach yourself how to trade.

  7. How about this, assuming you have a bit of money left from school open up an IB account with the minimum deposit of $3000 dollars. You will use this account to trade ES (mini S&P500) in the overnight market. Make sure your out before 8am eastern. And don't stay awake all night use bracket orders to do a lot of the work for you

During the day go down to you local swifttrade and trade ES with their money all day long. You will be glad it is their money your losing. Once you get good at trading ES during the day you will be able to spin that contact 23 hours a day making good money trading only one lot at a time.

The last thing is to get a weekend job at a bar or something to make spending money and have some one to talk to.

(Or call Gerry Schwartz at home, his number is 416-393-6836 and he'll give you a six figure salary and a company car)

  8. HAHAHAH GOOD ONE! THE FUNNY THING IS THT I WAS WITH SWIFT FOR 3 MONTH AND LEARNED ABSOLUTLY NOTHING NEW. THE MANAGERS IN OTTAWA ARE IMBECILES!!! :D

  9. just wondering if swiftrade is offering Futures trading, I thought they only do equity?

  10. Yeah another Swift Trade Thread, I am so on it. :)

Yes Swift Trade offers futures trading with CME for about 10-15 products right now, including currency pairs. I doubt any office will let you start trading futures as they have minimium success with people trading it. They have other "proven" ways of making money and don't want to waste their money by having you sit in Simulation for few months to learn futures. There is no other way to learn futures at swift as their risk control is too tight for futures trading and their software badly designed for futures trading.

So prove them you are a good trader on equity markets and slowly start getting your risk level up so you can start learning to trade futures.

    Mike
