Trading Japanese Market

  1. Does anyone know how one can get invoolved in trading the Japanese stock market in America or is anyone doing it? I saw IB gives access to it but I bet it costs a pretty penny to do so.

  4. Well, the US allows the rest of the world to trade US markets, WHY doesn't the rest of the world make it as simple/easy to trade THEIR markets? Especially countries like Japan, China/Hong Kong, Australia and others.

No, ADR's or some etf are not even close. They're US traded, after all. I'm talkin' access to their brokers/exchanges without bullshit restrictions or sky-high commissions. And I don't mean the manipulated futures crap, either. Stocks!

We'll have it before the end of the year. Rates will not be as low as US equities, however, I doubt you will find it cheaper anywhere else. We'll be in the same ball park as the cheapest Japanese brokers - which tend to only accept Japanese residents and do not have English websites or trading platforms.

  6. Is there a stamp tax on Japanese shares?
