I have a cat but have to lock her up in her box while I am trading. Too much distraction...

  3. I worked in a corporate environment for years. Hated it.

Started working from home. Loved it. Didn't realize I was getting weird from social isolation.

A few years ago I joined a WeWork. It's a friendly corporate environment but you don't have a boss. There are massive social experiences but you can do your own thing if you want. Totally has been the best thing I've ever done in my life.

But then I left because of pandemic.

    Forget the lingerie...

I now know exactly what to buy my woman for our first getaway out of this Pandemic.

There is another issue besides "isolation". It turns out the human brain needs to hear wind and water to "reset" its patterns to "normal". Without it the brainwaves never reset and can "tilt". So maybe something as simple as walking around in nature AND turn on some good music while in the "office". It will definitely "expand" your world.

  8. I enjoy working with people but hate the back stabbing, lying and plain assholeness that coworkers are prone to even in dead end jobs. Trading rooms or even some traders I met and chatted with ended up bringing nothing or causing me to question my own methods with their money losing or blow up ideas. I studied for at night, premarket and weekends while many did nothing but dick off. Sorry, unless you find good people your gonna have to get socializing in a club or community you like.

I don't think the thread starter is looking for people to socialize with.

Instead, the person is looking on how to deal with the isolation and made a mistake in thinking that chat rooms will solve the isolation problem. Actually, in some cases...chat rooms will increase the isolation.

Some people need to just visually see the people they're talking too while others need to be in the same environment. Example of the latter, sometimes I trade outside on my patio. I can see / hear / talk to the neighbours if I want when they're outside too versus to writing text messages in a chat room to the same person if also in the chat room.

Personally, learning how to tune out trading / markets when actually not doing any trading is much better. Just getting outside for lunch, seeing people move about outside, getting the sun on your face does the trick for most. As another user @stochastix mention...there's something about the outdoors that helps you feel alive (not so alone).

Yet, there are others that need a lot more than that such as exercising / working out before / after trading or during lunch is needed.

Anyways, the thread starter didn't provide any info about his / her home trading environment to make any adequate helpful solutions. :(

Heck, the thread starter could be living in Barrow, Alaska where its dark continuously for 2 months.

Then again, this is a Pandemic and many traders have not done well being home more than usual. It results in depression and some make the mistake of thinking its isolation when its just a chemical imbalance from lack of sun / lack of activity.
