    those indicators only work during the time when it was first invented. for example, macd was created by Gerald Appel in the late 1970s. Therefore, macd only works during the late 70s and guess what, emini sp didint exit in the 70s.

    Hope this help

  4. There's been many similar threads started over the years. All along the lines of "Trading is stupid. There is just no way to make money, etc, etc..."

    They are just trolls, or goofs looking for strategy ideas.

    Well according to that site:
    "Based on internet averages, elitetrader.com is visited more frequently by males who are over 65 years old and browse this site from school."

    Just as I always suspected. Bunch of geriatric school boys. :D

  8. Managing the trade after your in it is far more important than producing the optimum entry signal.

    To refine your trade management settings, consider doing the following;

    Use a signal pattern that puts you in a trade - say every 3 minutes on a 1 minute chart - and alternate between long & short positions.

    Ignore the signal when your in the trade

    Manage the trade.

    Your back testing should produce some or no revenue - you really should not ever have any significant losses.

    Good Luck.

    Trading is a game,but you better treat it as a business.

    Here's a challenge. Attached is a data file containing the tick history for QQQQ for one particular day.

    Here's the challenge to all you profitable automated traders: write a simple program that runs through this file, generate buy/sell signals on the data, and show a decent profit by the end. Nothing fancy. A simple program running in the console will do, any language. Starting cash: $100,000
