Was never jobless. Had an opportunity at GS, took it, left my previous job. You should re-read some of your posts.

  2. What do you have to offer the intern, as in are you successful trader? Would you be winning to share your sheets to prove that to the intern?

Also sounds kind of funny how you said it's possible to go full time, I would hope that if the intern does go full time it will then be paid, or are you saying it would be a full time unpaid internship?

I call BS on the GS, they would have some vetting for an actual 'intern position', they are careful to know who interned at Goldie. But I also didn't see where you said you are working for GS, so that could be hearsay, but I also don't follow ET that closely.

I know aomeone close to me tried to do this a few times and it didn't go well, the assistants tried to tell him how to trade or they brought in their own ideas while obviously he was taking money out of the market consistently for years it wasn't worth it to him, and he paid them well to basically STFU and help him out.

Here's a brief recap of his posting history:

A few posts on the pnl thread swinging a few hundred dollars a day.
A thread where he's interviewing with Goldman and got the job.
A new thread where he wants to hire an unpaid intern presumably for Goldman Sachs.

  5. I don't understand the concept of working for free, are we revisiting the Teacher-Apprentice days?

Market Surfer, I agree things seem strange when people like Micheal Penn are out there starving for a chance our author is offering to a young up and coming professional trader. I have seen stranger things in life, maybe it's Victor Niederhoffer behind that email looking for new help with his new funding to run his fifth hedge fund? If you can tell stories like Neiderhoffer and write like him, it would be a honor to work for you.

Market-surfer, what river is that you are looking at? That's a killer view!

  6. That's the Hudson River, Jesse. You should see the firework show they set off in the river, front row seats from my terrace.

Funny you mention VN. I am a student of his and a close personal friend. His influence has resulted in many good things coming my way, not to mention how to understand how markets really work. Looking forward to his 70th bday event in CT/NYC.

  7. I love Victor Niederhoffer and was pissed off when "Active Trader" Magazine stopped their column back around 2004 with V.N.

I would have loved to have been his apprentice, he has one of the best long-term track records until his perfect storm hit. Market-Surfer was he trading something new that caused him to get hammered in Asia and miscalculate the Fed or was he suffering health problems, someone that great does not get destroyed easily after decades of solid performance. Did the Markets around the Globe change? I know Dr. Soro's loved him and I pondered what it really was, that caused him to lose his Mojo so we can extract that part out of our brains! He leaves many clues in "Practical Speculation" (read it three times and will read it again).

The fireworks from that view must be spectacular from there! You been to the "Mohonk Mountain House"? Sorry to get off track with our friend looking for help to run his enterprise. There must be many upcoming MIT or Harvard Graduates or Columbia and Wharton B-school kids looking for this great chance of a life-time? You never know?
