I played around with demos of the IB software. It is so non-standard I cant get used to it. Are there other interface that can be used to trade thru them? I would open an account with them if I could find better software to trade with. Thank you
We offer Livevol X for Options Trading. That can only be used today through IB with Lightspeed as your broker. https://www.lightspeed.com/trading-platforms/livevol-x/
Colmex Pro offers great execution and an interactive screen to move in and out of positions fast. Just my opinion. I use to use cheap platforms, but learned the professionals, many of which follow exceptional coaches, specialized training and superior technical tools do not use cheap platforms. I realized if I'm going to bring my street ball trading moves to play against the NBA-like trading pros, it would help to even the odds if I have a dynamic plaform.
I ended up coding my own. I think that's the way to go as you can customize your solution to automate tasks that you frequently do such as scanner for option combos and then send trades in about 2 mouse clicks.
Agree, but only do this after you have a strategy that is successful but a pain in the ass to execute.
Yes, the risk of premature optimization is real. Still, I found it helpful to build my own charting solution if for no other reason being able to quickly pull up charts offline
