Trading in China

Discussion in 'Trading' started by ArbProfit, Jul 17, 2006.

  1. Has anyone had any experience trading in hotels in Beijing, Qingdoa, Nanjing or Shanghai?

I'm taking a trip next month and would like to bring my laptop along for the first hour of trading.

    Any insight is appreciated

I never traded from hotels there, only my houses. You can expect decently large data pipes, but some latency which may or may not be acceptable for you, and will depending greatly on your location. The great firewall of China has some weird IPs blocked, and I would be weary of doing unencrypted financial transactions from China, as I could easily imagine collecting data on foreigners could be a lucrative side business for any under paid hotel or IT managers. It's not like you have any real legal rights over there. Just my opinion, but I would definately trade myself.
